If you read the entire story, its not true that Poland was not recognised for their efforts. But we have the same with history becuase alot of our sources especially during the cold war were written by western capitalists, thus making it biased. Well I read information from neutral countries not from Poland or England or France or America becuase they are bound to say they were the wants to thank. its obvious. If you research. poland cracked the orginal codes, but when they got harder, they decided to pass on their hardware and info to the west. In turn Alan Turing developed new cryptanalysis methods to crack new codes. Actually Alan Turing was a homesexual and after the war put in Jail. Later he committed suicide - thats the thanks he got, so your not the only ones Peter.

The point is the British knew absolutely nothing about German codes let alone Enigma. The Poles gave them everything, what the machine looked like, how it was made, how it worked, lock, stock and barrel. Look at the History channel, according to them the British at Bletchley Park broke Enigma. Balls............it was already broken.

After France fell in 1940 neither Britain nor France had an intelligence network in France. Poland did and we put it at the disposal of the British for the common good. Over 40% of all intelligence gained from mainland Europe during 1940-1945 came from Polish intelligence networks. This according to a joint British-Polish team set up a few years ago.

Enigma was currency in Churchill's hands. Currency that the British never had before, currency given to them by the Poles.

linked by UKGUY is useful here. and also we've gone into the fact that the war had many contributers. for better and worse. credit where credit is due of course, but there is plenty for all. you dont here the irish seeking acknowlegdement for its parts in either war.

despite being so long to be acknowlegded also.

Also the original codes were completely different from the ones cracked in 1939 so we are not refering to same enigma. So I don't think you should have all the credit Peter

Hm, well, so many good folks against one little Puzzy. What is it called? Mobbing, I surmise? Even daffy has joined the herd? - I am not scared, though, nor persuaded by the force of mass intimidation. None of the good people in question has given the slightest proof that I've written anything untrue, 'racist,' etc. You've only done some name-calling, that's it. Some of the brutal, and cowardly, attackers seem to be from America, so I'm not shocked by their thickness, monstruous lack of discussion skills, and bullying attitude (the whole world hates you, folks!). I think that, being Yanks, they have inherently a competitive and Europhobic attitude. They'd just love if Europe were as a mucky and messy Thirld World 'meltin' pot' as Yankland. Yet some others on this forum, notably daffy, seem to have a good European background.... And this is sad indeed that such folks seem to be yielding to the brainwashing and the intellectual barbarism more and more prevalent in Europe (but coming, of course, from Yankland). Being in cahouts with a racist, fascist, and hateful Europhobe of 'espana's' ilk, daffy? Read his hate-spewing postings again. Is it how the Europe of your dreams should look like? Woe-betide!

im not intimidating anyone! ? Im merely saying that credit is due to all involved in defeating the axis in ww2. please try to see things as they are in this instance. there is no one out to get you or gang up on you.

It was the americans who gave Europe the money to fund the great rebuiilding of europe as we were 'bankrupt' after the war.

the EU was french and german driven in the aspiration of preventing further wars and *ENCOURAGING* greater co-operation. A laudible and admirable task (that has had resounding successes to date in unifying Europe)

Ive been very patient with you and espana regarding your views. I would appreciate ye to cool it down. and just discuss like most of can here.

You know well by this stage im not for communism or fascism. so you've got the answer your own question

Yawning Fish? Do you suggest, Fish-the Yank that what I've written is sleep-inducing? Boring? If yes, why would it be ah, so boring? Or maybe you just take on this 'bored' pose in order to hide the fact that you are unable to reply to my statements in a rational, civilised manner? Feelin' cornered? Wouldn't your behaviour be confirmation of my statement that Yanks are bereft of any discussion skills; they are only able to intimidate and smash their opponents physically? And d'ye know, twit, Horace's saying that any brute force that isn't harnessed by wisdom falls dawn under its own weight?

Daffy, are you sure that the EU had the aspiration of preventing greater cooperation? So you perceive me as being on the same level as that primitive, anti-intellectual brute using the nick 'espana'? Exactly why?

I'm not concerned mate, you're just insignificant. What was so unrational about my comments towards you? Do you really think that slagging off "yanks" has any effect on me? Some topics I can agree to having not enough knowlege to make any comments, and I don't pretend to either. However, I do feel it necessry to voice my opinion about the manner in which you treat people in this forum. So far I've heard it all in here so these comments about Americans is water off a ducks back. Such a wise man should know better than to make generalizations about an entire nations people anyway.

Fiszek, in my insignificant opinion, today Yankland is just a brainless 'multicultural' human mess. My family were Americans, but it was many years back. There are no folks like them in Yankland any more. I didn't ask you if you were 'concerned,' only if you were 'feelin' cornered.' I didn't say I had anything against calling me names either. And why, according to you, would I be oh so insignificant? And if I'm indeed so insignificant, why do you bother to react to what I scribble? Oh, so you suggest that 'the manner' in which I 'treat' folks on this forum is allegedly bad? If so, are you able to give any facts to back this claim? The 'twit' was used as a term of endearment.
