British government just as inept as Polish.

I guess everyone has heard about the huge data loss by the british government with millions of peoples bank details on two CD's going missing. Ha people slag of the Polish government but the Brits aren't much better.

Not as much. It more difficult to lose 25 millions bits of paper. ;)

Well you are correct Kil in saying individual failure on behlf of the courier, however, what about the fact the disks weren't encrpted, that isn't the couriers fault. Several misakes have contributed to a large scale calamity.

If the individual who removed the disks is also the person who posted them then it could all still come down to individual error. The disks probably shouldnt have couriered in the first place as that would consitute a security risk on its own. Also the disks could get damaged. I've worked in IT in investment banks and been told that if I send even a PC's hard disk offsite I may as well not bother turning up for work the next day. It happens though. I'm sure there were checks and balances in place but theres always room for individual error in any job.

So individual error is ok and nobody is responsible?....I guess its ok for airline pilots to have a bad day then?

No, individual error would mean the individual is responsible.
