enjoy good manners in a man after all, why not such a gesture!

Agreed.

One thing I will say about integration though, apart from a recent relationship I had, I don't know any of my Polish friends who are dating outwith their nationality. I don't know why. One answer I received from a male friend was that Polish and British women are different and that British women are more independant, aren't so homely etc. I said that this was stereotypical and didn't cover the entire nation. I was answered with a shrug.

It had been called a Liverpool kiss way back in the past.

The inaccuracies of stereotypes are not easy for everyone to deal with.

Glasgow took the name later.
There must have been Glaswegians insensed by the suggestion that Scousers might be harder.

I think this dating outside of ones nation that you write about might have something to do with the fact that they seem so "exotic" to eachother and different from what they know from their own country.
I'm saying this from my own experiance.

this is a very good point, my recent girlfriends have all been a different nationality from myself. I haven't gone out and thought 'hhhmm i want a pole this week and the week after an italian' it just seems to have happened like that.

Yeah, I don't disagree with you. The Brits will go with anyone but the Polish are more selective :)

Alright, I've changed my mind about that one.

Shouldn't the title of the thread be:

Are Polish people really interested to integrate with the British?

Why?

Because at the moment, the word order suggests that the situation is of British people intesgrating or not into the Polish community,
rather than vice versa.

I think when a topic has a title like -

Are British people really interested to integrate with Poles?

it's acceptable that the actual posts will reflect views from either side.

The views will come from forum members.

Does that mean the thread is actually about British people living in Polish society?

Possibly, or Polish people living in British society. Seems quite open to me.

Word order is the significant point here. A small group can integrate into a larger one. Not the other way round.

My point is that views from either situation would be welcome I reckon, perhaps from a British person moving into a Polish Society of from a Polish person moving into a British Society. Still the topic title would apply.

It would be nice in some ways if all the British in Britain started learning Polish and eating kielbasa,
but it's not about to happen and that is not the issue here.
Note that it is in the Polonia UK section.

Yes, it would be interesting to see the other side.
There is a much smaller number of British people living in Poland.
How they integrate into Polish society is a matter for discussion elsewhere in the forum.

I guess it could make sense if you follow definition 3a:

3 a : to unite with something

m-w.com/dictionary/integrate

but the others suggest the order of words is not correct!

How about if you become involved in a Polish community within Britain?

Polonia UK might also cover how Brits react to things related with Poland... :)
