The British royal family are looking to recruit Poles to work for them

I saw this in the paper yesterday. Apparantly there are a shortage of people wanting to become butlers, valets etc.. and they are now actively seeking Polish and other Eastern Europeans to work for them. Just interested to know if any Polish people would want this job? You do get to live in the Palace (well probably the stables), but the pay is crap (about £20k pa after training), the hours long and you would basically be a servant to the royal family.

20k is a lot more than a lot of people earn, it's fairly decent pay. I think the reason that there are a shortage of British butlers is because we view the Royal Family as an archaic instituion, they have no influence over the country. We need out Government and we like our Queen, but we don't exactly need her as we would have done 2-300 years ago. x

Possibly outside London, but it wouldnt go far here, after tax etc. OK you would get free board and lodging so I guess it wouldnt be so bad. Maybe some people would like this job, thats what Im interested to know. Personally I think the royal family are a drain on the taxpayer and only useful as a tourist attraction, but thats only my opinion.

Let's go further. The current occupants are all of Germanic or Greek descent. So let's find Prince William a nice Polish girl and have a Polish Queen next. Bigos at the next garden party and out with the cucumber sandwiches.

On a more serious note I've heard that you earn every penny working in the Royal Household.

Sorry honey I forgot it's much more expensive to live in London :s . I agree with you about the Royal Family. We should do away with them before Camilla is made Queen...I do not want her to have any power title in my country! x
