I work for a company that has at least 900 employees. About 1/3 of these are Polish (both in the US and in Poland) about 1/3 are from the Ukraine and 1/3 are a mix of american, persian (iranian) and a mix of others.

I have never worked with people more honest and hard working than the Polish people around me. My partner is a Polish woman who has been in the U.S. approximately 10 years. Her and her family have a great sense of work ethic and are more dependable than most of the Americans I have worked with.

In the U.S. we have the same issue with people that come here from Mexico. They are not here legally and they still get more benefits than the immigrants I know that are here legally, (such as my polish friends), so, take comfort, things are bad everywhere!! :o)

I apologise about the name calling, you just see England as a land to make money in...to me its my home and i have seen it go through hell.

I really don't see the UK as a place to use and leave! I understand that we are members of the EU and therefore have the right to live and work within its bounderies. British investment in Poland runs into billions of pounds. Many Brits have bought property in Poland and many more will follow. I feel European and believe everyone can benefit from real cooperation. Many Poles died fighting a long side Brits during WW2 and as mush as I respect what Brits have suffered I can't help but feel Poland has suffered more.

Inflation will rise due to the shortage of housing which will increase bank of england interest rates. And the huge amount of money taking out of the uk by poles and sent back home. The poles filling labour shortages will only keep inflation low fo a short time. In the long run it will cos the uk ta payer.

So are you suggesting that Poles don't pay taxes ? I can be not a British citizen, but I'm certainly a BRITISH TAXPAYER.
And I've been watching TV today and I've red 'The Independent' as well, and there wasn't A WORD mentioned about negative impact of sending money abroad by Poles on property prices. Rather easiness of getting a mortgage. And are you so naive that you think that only Poles send their savings home ? Millions of pounds are sent elsewhere to Europe and to Africa and Asia as well.

Not according to the article you've posted. So, are the other claims in that article false as well?

Also, don't you think it would be better to complain to your govt about these issues instead of a forum where it's mostly British and Americans looking for helpful information about Poland?

"Polish immigrants cannot claim benefits until they have worked for 16 months in Britain and paid all their national insurance contributions, which leads many to end up on the streets".

16 months, Mr F was correct, if you bothered to look at the link you provided us all with, its states clearly that they cannot claim until they have their NI contributions in for 16 months...

Oh Mr F...just realised you posted..but what the hell Im gonna post it anyway :))

And that's all you have to say? What say you about the insurance benefits? It seem like maybe you don't know what you think you do. Makes everything seem less valid then. Just as I thought. You run your mouth without having the knowledge.
