British job- seekers are being refused work because they do not speak Polish, it has been claimed.

The influx of Eastern European workers means the language is now vital for jobs in agriculture, says MP Malcolm Moss.

Oh my God...I think I must be psychic...you're never going to believe this, but before I looked at the link, a voice in my head said "Daily Mail"....OK, I know it's the Mail on Sunday, so my psychic powers are obviously not fully developed yet.

Isn't it a shame Mr Moss cannot remember the woman's name or the factory involved, somebody might not belive him....but it must be true because it's in the Mail

Rule of thumb whilst reading mainstream media disinformation. The Daily Mail is utter rubbish. And to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Yeah I believe that immigrants should learn the native language, but there should be optional courses in high-school for native English speakers to learn Polish or other eastern languages. :)

I think krauts should start imagining this, especially if turkey (god forbid) joins the EU.

After the accident that took Diana's life, I thought tabloids took a beating....pressure on the public not to buy them....that sort of thing.

Funnily enough it also happened at a farm in my area before this story, If Britians begin to feel discriminated against tensions will rise.

its not surprising that the there will be racial tension.. the world has gone mad when you cant get a job in your own country cos you dont speak a foreign language. Immigrants who want to become London taxi drivers are now being offerered free English classes and other incentives such as a motorbike in order to help them pass.. but nothing for English people. Ive nothing against Poles.. in fact I have one at home, but surely this madness can only happen in a crazy country like England.. where we seem to prefer to give jobs to immigrants other than our own people.

Ok please explain why it is good that British people are being refused work in their own country because they dont speak Polish? I am interested to hear why this is so positive for you. Would you be happy if this happened in Poland.. or do you just want everyone to come over here and get jobs.. if so, what will happen to your economy? I think you just hate Brits for some reason.. please respond as I am genuinely interested to know what you think.

I think that this has happened because the Polish are exploited and it is a good excuse not to give a job to an Englishman as the wages, term and conditions of service are probably bordering on the illegal and the English are not wanted as some of these dubious practices will have to come to an end. Mind you, do you often see English people working in Chinese restaurants in England if they can not speak Chinese?

I suppose you dont see English working in Indian restaurants either, its nothing to do with language it would just look strange.

We're talking about every day jobs here and not ethnic restaurants.
