Broadcast of Polish sport (or "Chinese wall in Poland")

I'm a Polish sport fan, but for the time being I live in Canada. I noticed one of the Polish web portals now offers live broadcast of the UEFA Championship games. But when I wanted to check this out it reads:

No Access

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------

The TV transmissions of UEFA Champions' League are available only for the users with their place of residence on the territory of Poland.

What's up with that? Does Poland try to build another China wall? It would be funny if the US blocked access to all users from Poland from accessing, let's say youtube.com... It's not the way to go IMHO and I feel it should be reported somewhere.

Very Disappointed.

Ps. Maybe there's a way to get around it? I tried to use a proxy IP but that didn't work...

dissapointed,

Nothing unusual there. I'm in Poland and can't use the BBC service.
It's part of an international agreement.

What kind of BBC service do you mean, Wroclaw?

I was thinking of BBC Radio 'Five Live'

I use Eurosport when I can't find what I want on TV. The commentary is in words not pictures. I use it to follow England games. I've never checked to see if they have Poland's games or other club and cup matches.

Ok, I think I can access it. But it's a shame they do that - the Internet was supposed to be WORLD-WIDE (web).

The people who have the rights to the game are the only people who can show it.
There is pay per view on the internet. So this might be an option for you.

if its a SonicWall that they use to block your access, try using:

birdsflyfast.com

or

dinosaurcoats.com

its pretty easy to figure out how it works, let me know if it does
