After the House AND the Sanate cleared a bill that would ban the CIA using torture on "terror suspects"....(which means anybody they choose as a "terror suspect").... President Bush will shame America and allow the CIA to use torture.

"President Bush's veto will be one of the most shameful acts of his presidency," Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., said in a statement Friday.

Not only him. With all due respect, a president has no absolute power. There are lobbies with political interests behind them too. Let's just hope Obama wins the next elections..

And let's hope for a more sensible approach, for everyone's sake. I mean, you can't approach your own country (Or allies.) like that. It's happening over here aswell and it's bugging me, how can leaders be so paranoid when they are fully aware of the fact that they are the ones who are causing about half these troubles?

If you're going to treat everyone as a potential threat, let's just say that you're not really gaining any understanding, the respect or the trust of the people that you should be serving in the first place..

P.S. Am I going to be in trouble again for trying to spell out the obvious?

A veto maybe. Well, he is quickly losing friends, when will his policeman's cap come off?

'It would be difficult for me to imagine the restoration of a serious transatlantic alliance in the aftermath of such a war'. This from an excellent talk-show segment. It talks about the Iranian nuclear issue and how a unilateral American attack would divide the EU and US, not to mention Russia. Russia is doing a roaring trade with Iran and would not sit back idly and let the US take control.

About the veto, it is shameful and breaches key treaties.
