Dear all,

I'm moving to Poland in few months and will need to setup a bank account there. Does anyone suggests. Any bank who's not charging for using account or card. Who accept transaction in other currencies and does allow to cash it in the same currencies without exchanging to PLN?

Thanks,

Denis

Go to your current bank and ask them who the corresponding bank is in Poland and can they arrange an introduction for you.

I have a business account with mBank, and I believe they offer accounts in PLN, USD, and EUR. However, I am charged a fee for my debit card (3.50/month PLN). I'm not sure if they charge for a personal debit card, however.

In Poland they charge almost everything they can ;) - I have a inteligo internet account and I have to pay a fee for the debit card - well there actually are personal accounts that do not have charges on the basic things including a debit card but they require a stable monthly input that is higher than my incomes (it's about 2000 PLN for 'Konto za 0 złoty' in PKO BP)

Citibank will give you accounts in foreign currencies. The account costs a few zloty per month. Using their card is free in shops, as are withdrawals from the biggest ATM network in Poland. The telephone and internet banking is all in English (or Polish) and they always have English-speaking staff available on the phone (and at every branch I've been to).

I can recommend Millennium Bank - very few formalities, and you can open an English version Internet-accessible account with just a passport. I have three accounts one company, one joint with my wife and another in GB Pounds.
They have lots of different flexable account types and I pay nothing on my account card.

Get nordea.
If you get more than 1500 pln pr. month into the account (your salary) etc. than all the above mentioned criterias are for free.

That is a standard of quite a few banks.

I'm also thinking what banks are good and do not have a lot of monthly fees?

I want to choose between PKO, Pekao, BreBank, BSP, Kredit Bank... what are your suggestions?

Thank you
Karolina
