Just interested.

For example, according to a survey conducted by ING, which was reported through Reuters, the average Brit has £2205 when you mix the super rich with people with nothing.

Average is meaningless really but average nonetheless.

So for Poles?

I don't know about Poles in Poland, but I think people in America would come negative on that average number. Unless, they are Polish Americans...then we have planty saved for a rainy day.

why yes, but of course. in a country of 300,000,000+, full of immigrants from every country imaginable and all walks of life, only the Polish Americans have any savings. The rest most certainly have thousands of dollars in credit card debt.

you people amaze me.

nothin' for nothin', but savings has little to do with your credit score.

It's almost impossible to predict with any degree of accuracy. We know the average income but it's harder to predict the marginal propensity to spend and save.

How about the emergency cabbage account? That's what the rainy day (black hour) notion is for here in Poland :) :)

Didn't you know, credit is wealth? The majority of people put their credit card balancing as an asset. People state their wealth without the debt they have on their assets. When you hear about billionaires the vast majority are listing their debts not assets.

BTW the average savings in Poland was 17k zloty, according to a news article I read a few weeks ago.

peterweg, back to earth. mr. weg.....earth is calling....

dude, can we get back to reality here? billionaires??? credit card balancing??? oh come on man. the point is that your bank account does not give you a good credit score, in a normal man's world. i'm not talking about billionaires or credit schemers here, we're talking about 99% of the time kinda thing.....and in that case, no, if you have 2K in the bank or 50K in the bank, it doesn't mean a good credit score, which is the point of my post.

good credit comes from borrowing a lot of money, and paying it off on time, not being a penny pincher and stashing away a few grand every year for a rainy day. that would make you a good saver, not a good borrower.

Google is seriously killing the validity of anything written on this forum.

Well if you earn a typical wage of 2000 zloty a month and you rent or have a mortgage,,After food, bills, beer and clothes (forget about children). I d say you would have roughly about no savings what so ever.
Unless you still have money you saved while working in the west.

Personal experience, huh?

A typical wage in Poland is actually closer to 3000 zloty a month.

Im talking net wage people cannot save their tax...
A teacher earns about half that, and the minumum wage is 8 zloty an hour. so if you earn 3000 zloty you are on a middle class wage, no???

No Mark, a teacher does not earn half that. My girlfriend is a teacher at a state school: she takes home over 2,000zl a month for teaching 18 hours a week. Add in another 90 minutes a day at a private school and a couple of private lessons a week and it's well over 4,000zl a month after tax and ZUS. Of course, that is a sum which can only dreamt of by people who try to make their living selling flashcards, scamming google and exploiting Poles.

My wife doesn't say anything about anything: I don't have a wife. Before you start spouting off about what my posts contain, perhaps you might care to actually read what they say? I'm not anti-Polish: I'm anti-cretin. Mark Biernat isn't Polish but he is a lying cretin & that's why I'm against him.

Now I know the inspiration for Fleetwood Mac's song 'Black Magic Woman'. Many non-declared voodoo experts :)

The average Pole really cannot have much in savings. Have you ever seen the trolley loads in Tesco? Ouch, they buy a lot.
