Polish exports of bread and bakery amounted to 516 million euros in 2010 which compared to only 121 milion euros worth exports of alcoholic beverages in the same year - informs the daily "Dziennik Gazeta Prawna". The biggest importers of Polish bread and bakery are Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands - says the paper.

It is estimated thet the price of a loaf of bread which today in Poland costs between 2.5 and 3 zloty may even reach 5 zł for at the end of year. The biggest price increase is expected for sugar whose retail price may eventually get up as high as 7.5 zł a kilogram - according to television channel TVN24.

I am surprised by this as I wouldn't think it would stand up to the time it takes to export.
As Polish bread as I am led to believe, doesn't have a high percentage of preservatives in its ingredients, and after a day or two would end up like eating cardboard... Still I maybe wrong and probably am TBH :)

Most factory produced bread is chock full of preservatives...and more and more people are getting bread that was baked in a factory 200km away.
