Sending bank payment to Krakow City Council

Dear All,

I am currently tracing a relative in Krakow and I have a form which I have completed that needs to be sent to the Krakow City Council in order for them to pass a message on to her. I have been given the council account number but I have to make a bank payment to them of 31PLN which is fine. Does anyone have any experience of sending payments to them or any other council? I basically am not sure whether to make the payment by visiting my bank in person and asking them to do this or asking a company such as moneytransfer to do it? Normally here in the uk we just make such payments online so this seems a little more complicated. Can anyone help me please? Thanks

You should be able to make international transfers online - you'll need the IBAN number which is easily findable on the internet - the help function on your bank's website should mention it. The downside is that 31zl is less than 7 quid and the cost of the transfer is probably going to be more than that. A moneytransfer place may be cheaper. Or mail a tenner to a friend or relative in Poland and ask them to do it at the post office.
