O.K. you computer buffs out there....I'm going to Poland again Wednesday this week, and the thought of buying a keyboard with a polish layout occcured.
What do you think practical idea or not?
If its feasable what would I expect to pay for a standard keyboard in Poland?

Thanks for your thought on this one.............

I taught M*******t Word some simple keyboard shortcuts to do the letters with symbols.
If I feel the need to use them, I just use Word, then cut and paste.

Wozzy, you have to start thinking like a cheapskate. Polish fonts are available on the internet for free. Go to your search engine box and type 'free polish fonts'. I use the Ogonki fonts: ¡ ± Æ æ Ê ê £ ³ Ñ ñ Ó ó ¦ ¶ ¯ ¿ ¬ ¼.

I was able to muddle my way to change my keyboard to write Polish characters.
The biggest problem for me is to remember that y and z are reversed.

For WinXP...Go to your control panel and select "Regional Language Options"
Then click on the middle tab "Language"
Leave default as is....and then got to "installed services" and scroll down till you get to
Polish language "add", then for the keyboard choose Polish Programmers. That did it for me.

(See? £ ¿ ñ ê)

I forget if I ticked add first or what. First time I attempted it, nothing happened. Experiment and bit and you will get it. Just avoid choosing another language as default or your computer will display everything in that language.

You can get stickers for your keyboard to remind you of where everything is located.

Thanks a lot folks. Just got back from Poland and as said you can get Polish layout keyboards but they are as rare as rocking horse muck nobody has or want's them, but can be got to order.

So I'll just have to go with the majority and frustrate myself with the softwear. Aaaargh :0)
