Vast majority of celebrities in Poland are a-holes, just like everywhere else Some of them have feeble whims, it's just a normal custom of celebrities (that's why they are celebrities after all )
I'm not into celebrities gossips and such thingies, but here are some names:
Doda Elektroda (Dorota Rabczewska) - blonde rock singer, some say she's a stunning beauty
Frytka - some Frytkowska, she was a 1st edition BB house inhabitant, (I didn't bother to watch, but she become famous after she had sex with her pal there )

International ? Not many, I suppose:
Izabella Scorupco (one of Bond's girls)

...that's all from me in this subject (for now, at least)

Basically Poles aren't into the celebrities.

People who really love cinema have a big respect for him. "American Pie" fans are more likely to be critical about his work.

PS: Have you seen "Rozbijemy tę impreze!" (eng. "We will crash this party")? If I'm correct this was his first small movie directed at times when he was studying at Wyższa Szkoła Filmowa in Łódz. All students had to do it in order to pass the semester. Polański came up with a brilliant idea to make it about a party, so he invited his colleagues form the studies, bought some alcohol, etc... But what he forgot to mention to them is that he also hired some thugs to come into the party and beat the hell out of it's participants. The final of this story is that he was suspended from the school for some time, and that he lost his mates trust never to regain it again. The movie came up pretty good though.

rape case

The whole case appeard to be just a bogus. Mother of that girl used her to form some false accusations, but charges against him had to be dropped, because of no evidence. I think it was a year or so ago.

No, the rape case was actually a statutory rape case (he had sex with a minor) and it wasn't bogus. I think the girl consented, but she was still underage and therefore could not legally give consent to sex. That is why he can no longer come to the US because he would be arrested. Oh yeah, and it happened sometime in the 1970's, I believe (possibaly 1980's).

Okay, thanks for the rectification Ranj, somehow I was just thinking that the court had dropped the charges, but seems that my memory is not an absolute one

Well there is no evidence against him therefore you should not call him a pervert without a basis to back up your answer...

There is plenty of evidence if you look , he admitted to this event and had several other affairs with under-age girls after ..at one point even admitting his prefference for very young females , saying it was a 'weakness ' he couldnt deny

This is rather late, but I have a question in relation to the main topic... I hope someone can provide an answer for me...

I'll have to admit that this may sound silly, but oh well... I have this huge crush on Kasia Cynke who stars in the series, "Oficerowie." I got the chance to see her again on this Polish talk show called, "Moj Pierwszy Raz" and unlike her troubled character of Ala on the series, she seems rather sweet and down to earth.

Does anyone know if she's really like that and how popular of a celebrity in Poland is she?

Thanks!

For some reason a lot of Poles love Sharon Stone I think because often they see her movies with Polski Lektor they can't tell she's a mediocre actress.

Czesc everyone!

Hey, thanks blossom... I have to agree with you regarding Sharon Stone, TheKruk--she doesn't impress me any--as a matter of fact, the majority of them folks in Hollywood turn me off... As for 50 cent--did he show up in time to perform? I have a friend of mine who does security at many of the events and concerts where I live, he has done two of his concerts and said he'll never do them again. He was always late. According to him, Jayzee is more professional, because he's about business...

Anyway, thanks replying--you folks are cool!

So... can anyone tell me anything about Kasia Cynke? Sorry, but I do have a thing now for Polish and European girls... is she married, have a boyfriend---??

Dziekuja!

Yes, the Ashkenazic director Roman Polanski AKA Rajmond Liebling is a pervert...I hear that Madonna is considering buying property & investing in Poland, as she considers it 'very open'...as a good Roman Catholic, she will fit in well with traditional Polish culture.
