hi there. i am moving to Poland in September to teach English. i will need to get a cell phone once settled.

I am wondering what providers offer the best service, prices for handsets, offers. I have looked through the websites of "Orange" "Eras" and seen what they offer.

any help would be appreciated

I think there are 3 main "forces" in Poland: ERA, PLUS, and Orange. I think the most popular are the first two ones.. (?)

Last time I was there I used Plus GSM. I found their coverage absolutely amazing. It seemed to work no matter where your at. Unless your in the subway or something. I wish we had that kind of coverage in the US but we aren't anywhere near it. I'm not sure what the prices amongst the big 3 carriers are at now.

I better just shut up and say nothing because I don't have a clue about this. But since I'm a little bored I'll tell you about my cell phone.

Well, maybe next time.

Krysia,
Does your cell phone consist of two empty aluminum cans connected by a string?

Actually the v3i still hasn't been released in the US. I don't have a contract so I paid for mine. I had a black razr that i bought and it lasted a whopping 9 months before it died. I looked at other phones but ended up going back to the razr. Not alot of quad band thin phones out there. Samsung have a nice one coming out but its only tri-band, and won't work too great here. I would love to see the rumored apple iphone come out.

I've got the black one and the new v3i - upgrade so I could video!...but I still say the battery life is v. poor - okay I concede that they quite sexy looking and are good for women - as they fit into even my smallest handbag (I'm sure that's what they had in mind when they designed it!!!)

Maybe you just need a new battery. Did you try that? The one for the Sliver should be the same and it's not too bad. Even when I use the iTunes.

It's only a couple of months old and it's been switching itself off when I really dont want it too....I really should just take it in store to see if there's a problem - I had the same with the sliver too - I have to charge it every night...

The motorola's aren't the greatest phone as far as reliability goes but the size and looks seem to make up for it.

this past visit I had no problems with orange. My GF uses ERA and she swears by it. I think most are ok..I hear that plus is a little more expensive, but I liked the network. Good luck on your search.

orange might be good for polish people. but for me, they are un profesional,if there are complain from costumer. i ever had problem with them, but they even don't think to respon costumers comlain, THEY SAID, FIRST PAID AND THEN COMPLAIN, i think that wasn't polite and uneducated with answer like that. they don't give a **** about costumers. they way they treat costumer VERY DIFFERENT than in australia, i travel a lot, and ORANGE was the worst provider i ever choose. i think the best provider in Poland is ERA. but anyway, everybody had their own opinion.
