Change my mind about poles in the uk

The first mass immigration of poles into the uk I accepted I actually thought it was quite eciting having foreign people come to live and work in my city. But now I have changed my mind.

I work part time while I am at college and their are lots of poles who work in my work. Ihave always tried to make them feel welcome by talking and being friendly to them, but nothing works with polish people does it.
They are rude constantly and miserable, I try to talk to them especially infront of other british people to make sure they dont feel left out. When I am the only worker in a group of polish people they are very secrative and only talk to each other.
They walk around work and never smile or say hello when you say hello or smile to them and It is annoying me to the point I might smack one of them. I have friend who are ethnically chinese anmd asian but have been born in the uk and lived here all their lives, they have been racially abused by these poles who have just come into britain and have no right to racially abuse people who have lived here all of their lives.

I am increasingly becoming concerned that they talk about people when they are standing right in fron of them just because we cant speak polish. I no longer have respect for the poles as I only repect people who are friendly and you can talk to.

If their country is so crap then dont come to britain and treat the british like crap go back home.

I for one will not speak to any polish people again as they are not welcome by me.

It doesn't sound to me like you are describing polish people at all. Polish people are very friendly and will gladly talk to you, if you talk to them. I agree that they might keep together if their English is limited, but not because they don't want to talk to you. They are not able to express themselves fully, so they prefer speaking polish...
Not a good idea, because practice makes perfect, especially when there is someone willing to try to listen and understand.

Glasgow seems dreary compaired to down here in the south. Went once to Dunbarton just seems so depressing up there.

Edinburgh is nicer than glasgow, I agree.

I am not chinese, my friend is. Most polish people are racist I think it is fair to say that. It is ironic especially when thousands of polish people we slaughtered by the nazis because they were slavic. If polish people want to live in the uk they should leave their fascist prejudices at home and learn how to behave in the developed world.

I have been to warsaw several times, I converse with my fellow scots about working poles I read the news and I have noticed a lot of racism in other threads on this forum.

I am also aware that there is a strong national socialist movement in poland (which contradicts history as the nazis despised slavs as subhuman).

I have never had a problem with lithuanians in my work. Only rude narrow minded polish.

Your whole ''National Socialist' movement is a bunch of poorly organized groups of screamers. By statements like these you just reveal that you don't know nothing about politics in Poland.

yes, no matter who you are - you are entitled to have an opinion. That's my "nationalistic" approach regardless what you think.

See teashoci, you labled all Polish people as being rude and not wanted in this country, but when i say something about you, you get defensive. So what did you expect to get from your post?

Lisa, they guy openly admitted that he tried to be nice and welcome Polish people only to be me with hostility and ignorant behaviour, what can you expect him to say......and why should be visitors in the UK abuse people who were born here...also how many Polish people do you know, because I dont know that many they dont tend to mix with foreigners......
