Cheap text messages to Poland from a UK mobile?

Does anyone know of a system on a mobile or over the internet to send cheap text messages from a mobile (Vodafone) in the UK to Poland (Orange)?
I have tried to find free text messaging on the internet but all have now disappeared, lycos allow you 1 text a month, the rest charge.

you can send them through skype if you put some credit on there all over the world :O)

If i installed Gadu Gadu, and worked out how to use it, on my pc would i be able to send free texts to Poland?

When sending sms to mobiles abroad from uk, they could be an extra charge to the recipient. As far as I know there is a joining fee to send sms from yahoo or messenger.
