cheaper international calling from Poland

Is there a cheaper way to make international calls from Poland then with the regular mobile providers?

I am talking about carrier providers. For example here in the Netherlands I can dial 0900-xxxxxx in front of a number (various providers), and then I can call to Poland for 9 cents/minute, instead of the 1 euro/minute my own provider charges me.

Cheap international calls... hmm probably only voip, skype etc.. if you have kinda smartphone you can use skype on your cell. One thing... only in bigger cities you could use edge or umts... gprs is almost everywhere but it's too slow for skype.

Maybe European Commision will make sth with that expensive international calls soon... I heard they're working on it.

We have Voip in the US and for $14.95 per month plus taxes we get free calls to Europe and Canada and well as all calls within the US are covered.

Is Voip the same/similar there? We will be living in Krakow for two years beginning in August and I'd like to start getting info on this kind of thing now.

The Service I use is call ConnectMeAnywhere

You can make cheap calls without using premium numbers so I can use my mobile phone. They also allow you to send voice emails which is pretty cool.

Someone asked about the VOIP service I wrote about, above.

Ours is Vonage. We get the deal as stated or we can go over our allotted monthly minutes for a top fee of $24.95 per month. We haven't had to do that yet, though, and we've had it a year and a half. I call long distance frequently--every other day or so, with calls averaging 20 mins each time, or more, and we've yet to go over the limit.

I was told (and it says in our paperwork from them) that we get free long distance to all of Europe with this plan. My husband has made a number of calls to Brussels, Belgium and Manchester, UK and we were not charged for those calls.

You have to already have broadband internet to use the service and that costs us about $60 per month. But we "needed" it for better internet service and Xbox Live already, so we already had it hooked up.
