It's a name pronounced in many ways but that 'w' is usually said as a 'v'

I was wondering, Wojtek.
What does that mean?
(Also can Wojtek be used as a Name)... or is it just a word..?
I had seen someone from Poland, use it as a username once; and I looked it up.

Some-site, said it meant "Soldier" or in relation to the word "soldier"..

Some cultures like the Japanese, (which I am also studying on the side); use the names of people also as words.. In Poland, is this the same in ways?

It's a name, short version of Wojciech.

the word "soldier"

there's an old word "wojak" means soldier, but it's hard to hear anybody say that way
soldier in today's language is "¿ó³nierz",
warrior = "wojownik" it comes from archaic (medieval Polish) "woj", so the male name Wojciech may have the same root, but I cannot vouch for that, anyway it doesn't have any female equivalent as far as I know.
(and like Grzegorz wrote, "Wojtek" is simply a short version of "Wojciech")
