Hello, I'm new to this forum. I found it by chance. I am American and of Polish decent. My grand parents were all from Poland. They came from Warsaw and Mala Polska. Unfortunately I do not speak Polish, though I wish I did.
I do as much hunting as I can. Does anyone on this forum hunt in Poland?
I am also interested in hand engraving.

Crazy Horse,

I don't like the idea of hunting, but welcome anyway.

Wroclaw, someone has to kill it. They don't come to the slaughter house willingly. So you pay to have someone do your killing for you. Not a problem and quite acceptable.

But of course I eat what I kill. Pheasants, Quail, Deer. It's all very good. Besides I enjoy the shooting sports. It's certainly not for everyone, but then again neither is knitting. Although I did give that and embroidery a go several years ago.

Don't people hunt and shoot in Poland?

Amathyst, all is forgiven. ( I hope your mother isn't viewing.)

Crazy Horse,

Yes, we have a hunting season. I know they shoot deer and wild boar. It's usually from a hide on stilts.

i havent eaten meat for 20 yrs - dont need to so why should i deprive an animal of its life just so i can stuff my fat face...

... nah... dont need that ****.... have a little respect.... just coz its nice doesnt mean its right.... peodaphiles think having sex with small children is nice but that sure aint right... we used to think having slaves to do our work was nice but that sure aint right... ok... some think its nice to eat dead animal... but that sure aint right... and running thru the forest shooting them sure aint right... just like it aint right for me to tell your kids to run... im counting to ten... before i run down the road and shoot them...

250 years ago there were some backward fukers who thought it was ok to ship dem black folk on ships so they could be sold into slavery... next year we celebrate coming to our senses and abolishing slavery...

unfortunately nowadays there are lots of backward fukers who think it perfectly acceptable to butcher animals to eat... because it tastes nice... there aint no other reason... some mad fukers even think its ok to run around popping caps on some little rabbits arse... just for fun and shiiit...

pass me the ketchup y'all - my veggie burgers done

Jasiu, thanks for your input. I would guess that you go around barefoot also, and you use rope to hold your pants up. I know you've never had chicken soup touch your lips and my guess is that you don't fish using bait. Do you swat flies?

Hi Crazy Horse are you living in Center City Philly or NE? I was born & raised in that area too. Lots of Polish folks in Philly - I remember having Polish pastries especially at Christmas & Easter when I was a girl.

Personally I am not a hunter, but just an FYI, a friend of mine's father, who is now in his 60s hunts ALL THE TIME in the forest in Poland, in the Lower Silesia region. Not sure exactly where, though. They hunt for Wild Boar. (I am the proud owner of a good luck charm... part of a tusk from a wild boar.) I've been at his house when his Dad was getting ready to go to the Forest... and the preparation is a ritual, cleaning & readying of guns and dogs, some food and of course a small bottle or 2. heh heh.

Miranda, actually it led me to other things. I did some needle point and I really liked embroidery. The problem I had was all the women I knew croched (spelling???). So I gave up on the knitting. I intended to knitt some very tight knit sweaters for hunting. Never happened. Somehow I ended up looking into gun engraving. I've been engraving for some time now and I enjoy the creativity. Of course I engrave hunting related things. If I could figure out how the hell to post pictures I'd show you some of my work.

Dora, I live in the Northeast section of the city, though I'm very familiar with center city. Down Town is always very interesting. Great archetecture, symbolism, and ornimentation. Not to mention beautiful women.
The Richmond neighborhood has a large Polish population and a couple of good Polish resturants. Syerianka's (spelling???) has the very best perogies in all the world (I'm sure my Matka will forgive me for saying that.) though my daughter says mine are the best. She's biased. Have your uncle post some hunting photos. I'd love to see them.

Oh, well. So it all turned out good in teh end.
Hunting is not my passion, unless we are talking about using camera instead of a gun. It seems to work for me well.
I used to go hunting in Poland as a company, since a lot of people in Poland hunt. Fortunatelly nodoby has fired a gun in my presence, so I guess I was lucky, I went because I liked the woods.
In Poland there is a lot of game and I like to watch it from the train or a car.

got no problems with my pants staying up and even if i did, nobody would see coz i wear my trousers over them... barefoot...? no mate, there are other ways of doing things which is a concept i know many mericans have problems coming to terms with...

... chicken soup... not since i was old enough to make a choice... fishing...? i dont think you got the point of what i was saying... swatting flies...? why would i do that...?

anyway... welcome to the forum crazy horse - in some parts of the world hunting is looked at as somewhat barbaric... much like the death penality...

There are many ignorant people in this world of ours. I do not believe in the electric chair for terrorists. I would afford them the Electric Couch.

Jasiu, let go of the hate, let go of the hate. It will only consume you.

Strange, how others who would hate Americans gladly take our aid when disaster strikes. They listen to our music, eat our food and wear our clothes. We Americans must be a terrible lot. Yes we are a very bad people. Especially to the ignorant masses.
