espana:
the car is better now that alonso is in renault but he cant do miracles,

Last year total Renault points after 6 races - 19. This year Renault points after 6 races - 9 points.

Renault are doing far worse with Alonso in the team, the conclusion is Alonso has made the car worse, not better.

well what about the chance of Kubica in a McLaren, i'm not sure on Heikki's contract and when it ends but we all know Lewis and Kubica are good friends, Ron Dennis likes harmony so?????!!!!!!

Kubica will NEVER go to McLaren, have you heard what did Ron said about Kubica look a few weeks ago. What a DIGRACE to Ron. WTF has look to do with driving??? If the main man of McLaren behaves so poor what does it say about McLaren. I completely agree with espana and would like to add that soon they will have big problem to find decent driver who would like to come to them.

Good point about the insult, however.. show me a race driver who says he will turn down 15million euro's a year and a chance at the world championship and I will show you a liar. McLaren will never have a problem getting the best drivers to drive for them, nether will Ferrari or most other teams. Lower ranking teams sell seats for a few million but only because they need the money. Drivers don't choose teams, its the other way round.

If McLaren offered Kubica the place, he would take it.

Despite finishing second in Sunday's Monaco GP, Robert Kubica fears BMW are losing ground to McLaren and Ferrari.

Robert Kubica. He's not the kind of a typical guy who would do almost anything for the money. For him the fact if he can get a good car is far more important than money. I read interview with his father and they both have the same on their minds. I doubt him and Hamilton in one team would make sense as they both want to win and with Mclaren Hamilton would be always the boss'es boy.

Well given the fact that he is already signed up to being the highest paid sportsman in history and is going to break Michael Schumacher records I think Ron and everybody else is justified in thinking he's a winner.

You guys feel free to slag off Hamilton for the next ten years while he gets on with winning, ok? I've been watching F1 for 20+ years and Hamilton is the best driver since Schumacher.

Are you saying he would be happy to join Force India and not get paid and drive an uncompetitive car? Of course not, all racers motivation is to win. Money is the reward for winning whether you like it or not.

You didn't understand my point, he would join Force India for far less money but ONLY IF it had superior car to BMW or other.

The point is that the faster teams than BMW pay more and the prize money is bigger, so its a redundant statement.
But this is a hypothetical discussion. The question is, would Ferrari or McLaren offer him a seat - my opinion is that Ferrari are the best and most likely choice.

A possible prediction for 2009/2010 is that BMW takes Rosberg for Heitfield in 2010, Kubica stays in BMW for 2009-10. At the same time in 2009/10 BMW car is good enough so that Kubica doesn't have to think about changing teams and in 2010 (maybe even 2009) he is a world champion with BMW.

Ferrari will take Alonso in 2010, Raikonnen retires in 2010.

BMW isn't likely to get any faster, certainly not fast enough to win the championship simply because engine changes have been frozen. This has fixed the power output with Ferrari making much more power than the other cars (and McLaren a little less).
Budget freezes are coming next, again setting the existing advantages in stone.

I don't see Alonso moving to Ferrari in 2010, unless he grows up and makes something of his time in Renault.

Don't bother with the forums, its full of clueless fanboys, you will only get wound up by it. There are some good posters with occasional info and the main news site is ok .

if mclaren is a little less than ferrari
how your boy is going to break michael shumacher records?
is your boy going to ferrari next year?
when was the last time mclaren won a wc?
i think he can win one or two wc but no more than that ,
ferrari always will be better than mclaren
if kubica or alonso go to ferrari your boy will be crying like he always do
kubica and alonso are the best driver since Schumacher

#may be he will be highest paid sportsman in history but at the moment he is not a wc

With extreme difficulty. I expect Ferrari will win this year, they increased engine power by over 20Hp over winter by exploiting the rules that allow design changes for increased reliability. Both cars breaking down in the opening race was evidence of that . Next year regenerative braking comes in which should really shake things up.

not as good as Hamilton i can assure you :)

Anyway all this stuff about McLaren and Ferrari and spy secrets etc, isn't that a bit last year :).

Why not concentrate on this year??? I mean yes Ferrari have a better car so therefore that probably makes Hamilton the top Driver as he is winning races against a better car than his own. I would be interested to see how somebody like Hamilton or Alonso did in a BMW just so i could gage how far behind or how close they are to both McLaren and Ferrari. I suspect this brings back up the old debate of 'why not put them all in the same car??' which to be honest i think is a great idea as i don't care about the manufacturer or the constructors championship.

I think thats probably the only way to 'realy' tell who is and isn't the best driver in F1.

dont be a clown tornado :)
pablo montoya , raikkonen and fernando alonso use to win races with mclaren as hamilton is doing now .
ferrari normally starts slow but always finished very strong
your boy has a few point less than the last year , and raikkonen and masa a few more point than the last year
you shuld be very happy and proud about what he is doing ,but at the moment he didnt win the wc.
i hope the press and the people don give to him to much pressure ,like they always do,
it can be devastating for him just because you british are hungry of heroes
poor guy if he fail again!!!!!!!!

Britaish has had what 9 World Champions and Spain ..one. So who a desperate fanboy?

Its looking as if Torro Rosso and Toyota maybe pulling out next year. So we may end up with all drivers in the same car....

Jenson Button is also looking at moving to BMW or Ferrari, says he will take a pay cut (from $16million) to do it. Alonso might take his place at Honda?

i was talking in general , not in the past (not only in f1)
england used to have to many gold medals in the olympic games , now less
football ... its better not to remember that the eurocup is a week away and england is not there.
tennis nothing
motos nothing
only in boxing you are the best after usa of of course and also good in silly irrelevant sports

that why i said that england is hungry of heroes.

why is happening this ?
i m sorry for the people who think that i m trying to slagg you off but i m curius about that
what is going on?

Britain gets the same amount of medals in the Olympics as ever, if not more. But winning anything internationally in a lot of sports is increasingly difficult for all countries because of the second industrial revolution that is going on in the world. All countries are getting richer and have better systems to support sport.

Did you know the countries with the highest number of Olympic medals per person are the Scandinavia countries? Finland has the highest. America has a poor record of medal winning, surprising really.

Kubica tight-lipped on future plans
Thursday 5th June 2008

Robert Kubica is refusing to comment on rumours that he's heading to Ferrari soon, saying for now he's concentrating on his career with BMW.

The 23-year-old has caught the eye of BMW's rivals after an impressive start to the season that has yielded three podium finishes and a maiden pole position.

With the results though have come the rumours.

And those have linked the Pole to both Renault and Ferrari with the latter emerging as the favourite to sign him when his BMW deal expires at the end of this season.

Kubica, though, is remaining tight-lipped about the speculation.

"I would just like the best option for me, but we will see what it will be," he told the Associated Press.

"For now I am just concentrating on this year and doing the best job possible. Then we will have to see."

Well first practice out of the way, and it looks good for Kubica avoiding the barriers this year :O)
Hamilton had a strange one as he only came out for 8 laps and sat in the pits for most of the practice, maybe waiting for the track to dry out.
Seemed a strange decision though as it looks as if its going to be a wet race by the forecast and you would have thought he would have taken the chance of practice in the wet.

I have a live internet link for F1 if anyone is interested.
It shows all the practices (without commentary), and the qualifying and race is with English commentary.

Free Practice is primary about setting up the car so you can't read too much into it.
However, I expect another Ferrari 1-2 in the race. Kubica doesn't expect the BMW to be competitive with the front two teams from now on (he said that straight after Monaco). Monaco is a track that hides absolute performance of a car, now we are at a normal track Ferrari's power and stability advantages mean they should walk it.

doesn't work.

It says UK viewing only (and I'm UK based)
