the Ken Russell film

I've seen it starred Catherine Oxenburg. A thread on this forum, started no doubt by the prolific Crow, pointed out that she is descended from the Serbian Royal House.

Regarding his Dracula I would say it had a Slavophobic theme in that it depicted Slovaks as the count's most ardent human henchmen

Not known to me, but history isn't my thing. Not mentioned in standard school education anyway which usually starts at 1066 Battle of Hastings.
I always thought of Dracula as a pimp, sucking the life out of young maidens the way he did.

Ah so not much on the 7th century when the king I was asking about, named Penda, reigned, but thats understandable given the sheer amount of history that Britain has.

i listen to (and go to see) closterkeller and see them as a goth band.

Speaking of Closterkeller, I love this song.

The bass is just so orgasmic!

The Polish language can be very sexy when it comes to goth music. I also like the Polish band Miguel and the Living Dead but unfortunately they've broken up! The deathrock scene in America approved of that band very much!

Do americans really have an unintentional phobia towards goths? 'cause the americans I know are all Hip Hoppers; Metallers and (of course) gamers. And the people I know do not have any angsty animosity towards Goths (the opposite would be more like it), so I wonder ^^"
