Vasectomy in Poland is illegal? Why?

Simple point, Davie. Many don't see that :(

because it might be irreversible

From what i know it is reversible.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasectomy

And you are not allowed to make yourself harm even on your own demand.

Umm not sure what you mean exactly but again from what I know, it is painless. (ok maybe a little painfull but only for a day or two).

Why would anyone want to have themselves surgically mutilated (vasectomised) for the sake of debauchery with impunity

It's not about debauchery. If i don't want to have a kid isn't that my right?

And going through life without progeny is a poor excuse for life indeed.

Whatever floats your boat. :-)

Vastectomy is rather not reversible so you possible can change your mind and what then?

Well for one it is reversible and secondly what if I really don't care to have children?
What if some one is forty years old and well set and doesn't want children? Should he be denied?

Now I want to have a vasectomy as does another Polish friend of mine. Don't really know what to do...

A reversible vasectomy is reversible...

I've just checked it. The problem is that in polish law vasectomy and women's equivalent of that procedure (not sure of the name) is not regulated by law. There is a regulation that "mutilation which in effect gives irreversible loss of fertility abilities is a crime" but it's rather about sterilisation without knowing or against the will of person who is sterilized.

Doctors in Poland are reluctant to make such procedures so that there is the common opinion it's illegal.

Seems to me a vasectomy is the ultimate privacy rights issue vs. state intrusion.
If someone is finished having kids, or doesn't want any at all, and there is medical technology available that can safely and effectively do this, then who is the state to say they can't? It's their body and their life, not the state's...

Condoms dont always work, they can split, when that happens sometimes you may need an abortion ;)

so there are pills with 90-somethin% of reliability ;)

Thank you, my point exactly.

Doctors in Poland are reluctant to make such procedures so that there is the common opinion it's illegal.

Which is dumb. Since people are doing it make it legal and make it safer.

But it seems it is not illegal. It's just not regulated.

It's not cocky at all, just a confident prediction

Oh, so you have it in writing somewhere that your wife will never get an uterus cancer? It's really stupid thing to say, Seanus.

For men? never heard of that.

But it seems it is not illegal. It's just not regulated.

Most people i talked to said that the doctors are made to swear an oath that they will not performs abortions and vasectomies.

Btw. I've found for you this:
wazektomia.pl

Vasectomy costs 2000 PLN - they say it's all-inclusive price

You have to be:
- not younger than 35
- have children

You're welcome :)

For Davie read this:

wazektomia.pl/faq

so it is not as you have said. It's only 30% chance that they will be able to return your fertility! They suggest that the decision should be ultimate.

For men? never heard of that.

i mean for women... But recently there was anounced that in the near future there should be a pill for men. They are testing it now.

so it is not as you have said.

Oh Zeti, I wish you would read what I wrote...

A REVERISBLE VESECTOMY!

They wouldn't call it reversible if it only had a 30% chance of success:/

Look up vasovasostomy or epididmovasostomy.

- not younger than 35
- have children

Still too restricted.

Oh and by the way, a vasectomy(not reversible vasectomy) can still be reversed with upto 90% success rates.

reversible is tyeing your spermatic ducts. if you cut through them or cut them out there is 0% possibility that you will regain yout fertility. Am I wrong? You are a medic here.

edit. Ok I've just read what you wrote. Nevermind

Trener żółwia.
But it proves that vasectomy is legal!

It's a catholic thing. After the man has 'done his duty', responsibility lies with the woman, kinda like who left the top off the peanut butter... whoever had it last!

Vasectomy costs 2000 PLN - they say it's all-inclusive price

Thats GREAT!!...but wait...

- not younger than 35
- have children

Well im about 15 years younger than that and nopes I don't have any children...well atkeast not that I know off. :-)

It's cheaper to go to prison :)

Probably easier to survive there than with a kid...Ok ill think about it.

It's a catholic thing. After the man has 'done his duty', responsibility lies with the woman, kinda like who left the top off the peanut butter... whoever had it last!

What on earth is that supposed to mean?

"The world might be a better place if certain individuals with certain traits got vasectomies."

The world would be better if my blood dies with me...

Oh and by the way, a vasectomy(not reversible vasectomy) can still be reversed with upto 90% success rates.

Then why is it illegal/frowned upon? I am not gonna be "barren" (is that word suitable for guys?) forever.

If I were you i would make a thorough research first. If one source tells you that there is 70% probability you'll be barren for good and other that there is nearly 100% of reversity... well I would check it somewhere else than in the Internet ;)

Or just wait for those pills for men. I think within 5 years they will hit the market

Yes, because thats where i do all my research Zeti...the interweb. Why cant you just admit you're wrong for once?

Or just wait for those pills for men.

Men can already have an injection that renders them infertile for around 6-12 months.

Rather have a ****** kid.

Oh dear, epic fail..

Why do people come on here and tell the world and his wife about their lives? For some strange kooky reason I dont feel the need to tell the forum when I have my period or when Im due a smear test, somethings are just too personal.

Why doesnt the OP just go back to India for his op, but I wouldnt imagine its that popular there judging by the size of the population! So he might have a hard time finding a surgeon!

Why cant you just admit you're wrong for once?

I just suggest him to ask a doctor how is it look in fact. I don't say you are not right but you are not a doctor.

Why cant you just admit you're wrong for once?

for once? do I argue with people a lot?

When is your next period and on the same ground, have u been regular?

I don't say you are not right but you are not a doctor.

Who says its a doctor who makes up the decision?
