there are a few dates mentioned but,2012 is the most realistic according to the polish government and nbp

I'd hazard a guess at 2010, the złoty is doing very nicely against the pound at the moment. Rafik's date is probably more realistic according to the reports of specialist branches

Strange to think that it was 7.2PLN to the pound at the tail end of 2005, even in 2006 perhaps. I'm waiting for the 1 to 1 ratio. 5000 pounds a month, nice. Send half the paycheque home, hehehe. I'm being stupid now

i just don't know how can we be not affected by any of the financial crisis in europe and america?who's going to gain when zloty is that strong?if zloty is so strong now and we import most of things are even more expensive than before?
i expected pound do go down against zloty cos the amount of money we send from the uk to poland but from 5.80 to 4.60 in a few months?that's weird

The people of Poland are not used to a free and open economy and that is also why Polish people in the service industry are so rude. The Poles have not taken grip of themselves and will have a dreadful shock if and when they allow the euro to come in. Over night, all prices will double and the poor of Poland will 'go to the wall'. Everywhere that has adopted the euro has regretted it.

don't worry michal.we are used to it.we had something like 800% inflation after 1989 and still are alive and kicking.we know about the effect that euro made in other countries but mind you most of the prices in poland are already close or higher than in any other eu country

shock horror, i agree with michal!!! yes im not a big fan of the euro too, but although some countries have problems adapting, they get there eventually. polish service has improved alot....mainly through tipping, which i always try and do because its such a hard job waiting on stag parties from the uk who are drunk ect...

So, from what I can gather there's no exact date set, then. But it could be anytime from two years from now.

To be honest I was hoping it would be in circulation in Poland by around 2009!
