My strong feeling is that you'll be better off working as a Polish citizen in the UK. The UK has some strict rules when it comes to employing a worker who is outside the European Union.

I guess so.

But i dont think there are barriers stopping them being all they can be.

Polish - no contest.
As a Canadian you have no rights of residency, therefore no other rights other than a non working tourist.
All EU residents have rights in all EU Countries - rights to residency, work, health care and later on; unemployment benefits and pensions.
So Poles automatically have these rights.

you're still discounting that canada is a commonwealth which carries it's own special privilages.

To be honest I've got no idea what kind of special privilages they have but definately they aren't better than those of EU citizens.

you can enter the UK much easier as a Polish citizen than a Canadian one, this is because Poland is and EU member like the UK so Poles basically have free movement into the country, where as if you were applying as a Canadian you would need a visa and work permit etc etc.

Hope it helps

Thanks for all the info. A friend of mine, who is just Canadian, had to wait 4 months for a work permit.
I think it would be easier to work as a Polish Citizen. I currently work as a public servant, here in Canada. Im not too sure where to look for good work. Any advise?
Thanks,
Asia

there are a ton of publications and online services, one of the most popular (i didn't say best) it is gumtree.com, umm timeout magazine, monster.uk, just do a web search. I worked there last year, use your polish citizenship it will go waaaaaaaay easier. Oh and look into what you need to setup a bank account, it's not as easy as in canada eh.
