Bratwurst Boy:
Is Beenhakker staying after this tournament?

He has a contract at least for WC 2010 qualifying, but after what we saw in Austria, I guess PZPN will try to do something about it.
He really made some strange decisions. Not taking Wichniarek who is actually one of the few Polish footballists playing (not bench warming) in a good league and even scoring some goals there, but taking mediocre strikers like Saganowski (English second division) and Zahorski (Polish league, couldn't score today one on one with the Croatian goalkeeper).
His dubious decision of leaving Błaszczykowski at home (we still don't don't know what happened, because the player denied it was the injury the team doctor had spoken about!)
There were tons of other useless players in the team (Pazdan, Wawrzyniak, the only nominal left defender, but so average that Beenhakker was afraid of sending him to the field in the first two games, chosing Golański, riight defender, for his position, which costed us the second goal against Germany, Jop jogging, not running, the most shameful display in the Polish team, somehow present on the field for the whole first half of the game against Austria, when he was a constant danger for our defence!)

Keeping Krzynówek on field for almost all the 3 games, when he showed already in the first minute of the opening match against Germany that he's far from a good shape (especially techinically speaking).
Saganowski on the right wing against Austria?
And this could go on and on.

So I'm not saying that Leo is the only culprit, because most of our players played cr@p, but the coach wasn't definitely helping, he was just as bad as the players in this tournament :(
Starting without Smolarek today?

whatever way it comes its still being a bad loser, just because its a drunken reaction dosen't mean its any less worse than attacks days after

Yep...
I think Poland should also develop football (sports in general), cause it's quite difficult to understand that a country of almost 40 million people has no stars...apart from Boruc :/
Żurawski is getting old... Poland needs a real striker. Smolarek is not that bad though :)

To attack someone on a Sunday night when the match was on the previous Thursday means those guys had been out looking for someone with an English-sounding accent to beat up. Premeditated.

Very.

Unfortunately, football has this small minority of idiots that think by beating up an English-sounding guy in Poland it's great revenge for the actions of a referee on a football pitch. It's pathetic. Webb was just doing his job whether people agree with that or not. Now Poland are out. If you want to blame anyone blame Mariusz Lewandowski. He's a nightname who wasn't even going to be playing if they'd got through. His contribution, 2 yellow cards and he gave away a penalty that cost Poland a place in the quarters in which he would not be a part anyway.

Unfortunately not many of my Polish students seem to agree. The 2 days after the Austria game you had every channel in Poland showing Webb, and how a "british" man had lost them the chance to shine. A friend of mine was confronted in a bar yesterday beause he spoke English, and was told that his country betrayed Poland. The guy was Irish, which the stupid skin heads accepted after many....Do you know the difference between questions.

lol, well to be honest i know nothing about balley apart from the fact you have flexible toes and good balance :) as for teh football i can only agree with you, they were a dissapointment and in fact it was rather a shame as i was looking forward to a bit of Polish fight and grit.

hahaha, their balley wasn't that good but probably better than their football, i could just see Boruc now, lol lol lol what a laugh you've given me

their ballet isn't that bad. I am comparing them to Russia, the best of the best. the football was a shame. Like enough people don't already take Poland as a joke. I didn't get to watch it much, only on an online broadcast so not good quality, but from what I heard Boruc was pretty good?

yeah he was ok actually, made a few important saves and his decision making was good. He seems to be a good judge on when to come out to a strikers feet or stay in his goal.

I do rate him as a goalkeeper and he is for sure one of the better keepers in the world but there is still a class of keeper above him.

no you can't mess with the Ruski's when it comes to balley, they mad for it, in fact i've never seen polish balley, lol.

My only gripe is that now the whole nation will blame THAT decision for costing them progress to the quarter finals when in reality they weren't good enough to get through anyway !!

Bulls**t. There is no connection between that shameful piece of judging and the fact that Polish team played poorly, it's the only logical conclusion if you really saw the matches. Poland played pathetic football, they were the worst team in this championship, and so they deservedly have to go home, period.

At half-time yesterday Alan Hansen said 'Boruc is the best keeper at Euro2008

I haven't seen a better keeper than Boruc at this tournament :o)
When you say 'yeah he was ok actually', that must be the most understated comment I've heard.

If Polska's outfield players were of the same class as Boruc and had his passion, then we'd be in the qtr finals !

At the end of the day ..... Polska was rubbish..... we have to move forward and try and qualify for the 2010 world cup finals; what is quite evident is that we need to look how players in Poland develop and improve our youth system.

When I drive around UK you see football pitch after football pitch in fields.... whereas in Polska it's not the same .... variety of vegetables being grown, but not many football pitches !

Will Leo stick around to the end of his contract ? Will there be a major overhaul of the team .... Boruc, Fabianski, Kuszczak ..... great in the goalkeeper department, but defence needs a lot of work, as does midfield and attack; Smolarek will still be around, Wichniarek should have a role to play ..... why didn't Gargula get a chance .. or Matysiak?

At least I can enjoy the rest of Euro2008 without falling into bouts of depression watching Polska !

Come on Spain !!! ........followed by Holland :o))

Thanks :) The boys will beat Italy, no problem... ;))
Let's hope the Neddies (the Dutch in a cooler way...isn't it cool ?..) will win against Romania...or at least draw.

POR FAVOR .........YOUR TEAM HAVE TO PLAY WITH SPAIN

Yeah you want your revenge ;)

Bratwurst Boy:

They were not good. If the Romanians beat the Neddies tonight, they'd deserve their ticket for the quarter finals. But if France manage to defeat Italy 3-0, then i'd like them to qualify ;)

Howard Webb was the culprit, he was the assasin that ripped the throat of passion from the Polsih team...:D

I think some people are starting to feel a bit silly after last night's result. I'm sure there are some will still maintain Poland were unlucky.

Sadly, they have been the worst team in the tournament by quite some margin.

I don't give a f*ck about revenge.

I just care about the £45 I (stupidly) bet on France to win the tournament. I just thought 9/1 was a good price. I could have got Holland at 14/1....dammit.

Suffice to say I will be laying the said bet should France qualify tonight, although I am not at all hopeful.

At half-time yesterday Alan Hansen said 'Boruc is the best keeper at Euro2008

yeah this is also the guy who said 'you can never win anything with kids' so i think we can take his comment with a pinch of salt :)

Polanglik:

I haven't seen a better keeper than Boruc at this tournament :o)

so you've not been watching any of Romania or Turkey's games then, no???

Polanglik:

When you say 'yeah he was ok actually', that must be the most understated comment I've heard.

actually i think it was pretty spot on, he did actually play well last night and made some important saves against Croatia. This was his best game of the tournament, however you can't be the best keeper at the tournament if your team goes out in the group stage :).

Polanglik:

If Polska's outfield players were of the same class as Boruc and had his passion, then we'd be in the qtr finals !

you maybe right there

Polanglik:

At the end of the day ..... Polska was rubbish..... we have to move forward and try and qualify for the 2010 world cup finals; what is quite evident is that we need to look how players in Poland develop and improve our youth system.

well if you leave good players at home, don't play your good players from the start of matches and lack passion and commitment your not going to get anywhere, let alone to South Africa.

Polanglik:

Will Leo stick around to the end of his contract ?

let's hope so, he is the right person to take the team forward

Polanglik:

At least I can enjoy the rest of Euro2008 without falling into bouts of depression watching Polska !

hay my country didn't even get to the finals and i'm still enjoying it, there is no pressure or no worries, its just watching everybody else going through the emotions mill.

Polanglik:

Come on Spain !!! ........followed by Holland :o))

both bottlers, its Portugal or Croatia to win :)

Polson:

Thanks :) The boys will beat Italy, no problem... ;)

your having a laugh right??? i hope so but anyway i hope both Italy and France go out, they have been both playing rubbish stuff and don't deserve to progress, i'm fully behind the Romainian cause tonight and i hope Van Basten puts out a weaker side so Romania can get the victory and send the grandads home :).

IronsE11:

Sadly, they have been the worst team in the tournament by quite some margin.

as i said before i totally agree with you their, at least Austria and Switzerland can leave the tournament with some pride in their performances.

IronsE11:

unlucky mate, i got £30 on Portugal and a covering bet on Croatia of £15. Portugal at 7/1 and Croatia at 12/1. and if they both win their quarters i've got a finalist as they will play each other in the semi's :)

up to this point in the tournament Boruc has been the best keeper :o))

i know what you mean ...... watching your own team is very stressful and can hardly be described as enjoyable , especially if they perform as diabolically as Polska !!

Betting on football never seems to give you good odds. I had a large each way wager on Lee Westwood to win the US Open at 80-1. Silly twit missed out by one shot but each way payed out at a quarter of the odds. 20-1 for finishing in top 5 is a better bet than some relying upon a bunch of prima donna footballers bothering to try very hard.
