Polanglik:

actually I have managed to watch all the games ..... except for the last ones in each group which have been played at the same time , so I've been channel hopping :o))

lol, me too i've watched all the games basically in the middle of exam revision etc :)

Polanglik:

up to this point in the tournament Boruc has been the best keeper :o))

actually i would vote for Lobont but its about opinions this game you know :)

Polanglik:

i know what you mean ...... watching your own team is very stressful and can hardly be described as enjoyable , especially if they perform as diabolically as Polska !!

yeah its almost on a par with not qualifiying, i mean you might as well have given your place to another team to be honest, lol.

szarlotka:

Betting on football never seems to give you good odds. I had a large each way wager on Lee Westwood to win the US Open at 80-1. Silly twit missed out by one shot but each way payed out at a quarter of the odds. 20-1 for finishing in top 5 is a better bet than some relying upon a bunch of prima donna footballers bothering to try very hard.

well thats why i didn't put any money on Polska or France, no passion and full of grandads, the same could be said for the Italians although they do have a lot of passion and their best player happens to be Del Piero who is well into his 30's

ah yes .... exams ..... that takes me back some years !! Never understood why all the major football tournaments are during O & A level exams ( or is it GCSE'S or something similar !) or University exams !

I remember taking a mini portable tv so I could start watching the games as soon as I left the exam hall !!

Hope you do well in your exams :o)

University exams !

spot on there

Polanglik:

Hope you do well in your exams :o)

thanks very much, i think i've done better than i expected if found a lot of them easy, i don't know if thats a good or bad thing!!!

Polanglik:
true :o((

yeah and on that, didn't the Austrians want to give their place away?? and that was before the tournament had even started :)

Poland were very unlucky to have that penalty given against them in the second game, that took their confidence away all together. like people have said they went undefeated in the group stages, finished top and that was with the mighty Ronaldo in their group, so I think they are on the way up!

This guy Ribery has class but he's nowhere near Zidane's league.

France have been in 2nd gear the whole tournament. Italy are beginning to turn the screw.

Toni is one of the worst strikers I've laid eyes on, he may be even worse than Gomez

Go Romania, I like the Dutch but a Romania win is necessary if Italy win. I hope France claw it back to a draw so Romania can afford to draw

Hold on, if France and Italy draw, Romania can afford to lose by even 2 goals and be -2. France and Italy are -3

tornado2007:
what your joking right, Polish fans my be passionate but it does not rub of on the team, Poland has as much chance of winning anything a Austria, in fact you finished below Austria in the group!!!

Sorry I am definately NOT Polish, just another loyal supporter of the Polish football team (out of my high regard for Polish culture only as I doesn't care a shjt about football anyway!) I have watched all their matches in 2002, 2006 and this EC tournament as well and let me state my observation: There are no other football fans who ever sing their national anthem as loud and passionately as the Polish fans (may be because singing the Mazurek Dabrowskiego with thousands of voices is just too overwhelming an experience) And despite dismal failures again and again, I've never seen Poles waver in their dedicated support for the team. Just see how they still dominated the atmosphere in the last match vs the US in 2002, Costa Rica 2006 and even until the 85th minute of the Croatia match lately! I am sure if on the same hopeless stage, the majority of fans of many teams (England for example) would probably quit the stadium pantlessly.

Watching a Poland match can never be a dispriting experience however poorly the Polish team play, simply because the Polish supporters always make up for it with their both moving and inspiring attitude as well as their action. And after reading your post, I will make a significant change in my post as an acknowledgement of your 'insight':
"If ever Polish team manage to possess half the zeal and faith of the Polish football fans, they would win the EC pretty much seamlessly!"

Ps. Yeah, I belong to the old school which still believes that Zeal and Faith do move mountains!

So... we're in the halftime and while we still don't know who will advance to quarterfinals it seems it's all over for France.
Red card - wasn't that too harsh? Toni position wasn't so good, in fact if he wasn't fauled I doubt he would strike it home.

Toni's position wasn't so good, yeah, for Toni u mean. For any other striker it was.

Abidal was the last man who stopped a goal-scoring opportunity.

Come on France, get a goal

I can't find an adjective to suitably describe Toni.

Rank just doesn't cut it.

That means nothing against Italy.

Us Scots outplayed them and we still lost. They'll be there at the end I think
