Seriously, if Portugal has any weak points then it's their defense. And, ekhm, not-so-perfect goalkeeper Ricardo.

Bratski?

Is Jogi barred from the game because of the referee at the last game?
I hadn't heard this.....

What is wrong with the players you mentioned? Is there an article somewhere that I could read?

*hugs Bratski and assures him that Deutschland will prevail against Portugal*

May i ask you how to pronounce Löw ? Is it [lö-v] or [lö-f] ?

Hmmm....where is the difference between "v" and "f"???

Haha ^^ I'm not talking about the German "v" ;) But the "v" like in "love", "avail"...or the "w" like in "bratwurst" ;)
So, [lö-v] or [lö-f] ?

Polson, I think you would pronounce Löw more like the French museum "Louvre".

If you are comparing German sounds to English:

W is pronounced as "v"
V is pronounced as "f"

Does that help? I have had 3 university courses in Deutsch and continue to study even now.....

Great! :)

That's what a good wifey does.....finds things for hubby! hehe

*huggles*

You didn't tell me about the player injuries though. I read the article about Löw being banned....I still say that's too harsh and a bit unfair. He did nothing to warrant such treatment. Did you see the link on that page where you can pick your starting 11 players? I gave it a try. Just not sure I put my guys in the right spots on the field! :)

Ok, thanks Brat :)

Well, the French word would be "Leuve"...the thing is that word doesn't exist ;)

I know, "w" like in wagen and "v" like in "vogel" ;)

I have had 3 university courses in Deutsch

I've had only one year... Actually my 1st language was English, the second was Spanish, and the 3rd one was German... I wish i had taken German as my second language though, i didn't like Spanish courses, the teachers/lessons were seriously boring :( And i'm more interested in Germanic languages than in Latin ones :)

And we don't really have that sound in English. Some of the sounds used in German are probably closer to sounds used in French. So you can probably pronounce things easier than I could! :) All those words with umlauts make me nervous!

Polson:

But...you know...I can't quite "hear" how you are saying that! *laughs*
Can you shout it, perhaps?

Well, apart from the German "ch"...i think a French person should have no difficulty to pronounce the German language... :)

I think i can read German. I can even understand it a bit... but i'd like to know more, much more ;)

Maybe you should do what I have done.....buy the fattest Wörterbuch you can find, and learn at least one neu wort jeder Tag. Then BB will correct your Grammatik for you! :)

No...it's something different.
Each city/area fals under a different sign. Each area has its own "influence" and you will be more artistic in some places, have more romance in others, do better financially, or have better health according to how the area sign jives with your birth sign.... (some times called location astrology or astrocartography, ect.)

I once found the maps quite easily, now I can't find one anywhere! :(

I wanted to see how the German team would be affected by the places where they would play next! hehe

Look at this link: a travel map for a fictional person. You click on the line and you get and idea of the significance this place would have for "Jane"

Final results :

Sweden vs Russia : 0-2
Spain vs Greece : 2-1

GROUP D

1. SPAIN 9pts +5
2. RUSSIA 6pts +0
3. SWEDEN 3 pts -1
4. GREECE 0pt -4

Spain and Russia will play the quarter finals.
Greece is the "worst" of the 16 teams of the Euro. The Champions are out with no point.

Line through Poland:
More beneficial on the western side of the line.

Along this line, you will find ideal places for relaxation, peace and quiet. Creative people can retreat from the hectic pace of everyday life and find a new creativity within themselves. If you are looking for a place to retire in, then a closer look at these places could well be worth your while.

You are surrounded by familiar things, trusted people, and enjoy the pleasantness of an environment, which constantly soothes your senses. Terms such as homeliness, home and security gain a deeper meaning. Perhaps it is your intention to find a permanent abode, or you would like to have children and start a family.

This and other issues benefit along the Venus/IC line. You easily find a place to live, and after a stay along this axis, you return home with lots of new ideas for beautifying your home. You develop a new sense of style and delight in interior decorating, or take a new pleasure in gardening and housework

Line through England:
This Moon position brings energy and change to your partnerships. There is an intense exchange of energy with those around you, and you search for deeply meaningful human contacts. You desire to experience life most fully on the instinctual and emotional levels. Your sensitivity increases, and you are likely to be very aware of the feelings of others.

It is your wish to meet friends and colleagues on a deeply emotional basis. You have a deepened desire for closeness with your partner. The need to engage in such a fulfilling relationship becomes more pronounced, and there is a yearning for romance, tenderness and passion.

The chances of a fulfilling and satisfying love relationship are quite high, however, the Moon's influence does not guarantee permanence.

Congrats Russia and Congrats Espania!

(Swedes had no chance with a hurt Ibrahimovich anyhow...and what a downfall
for the ex-European champions!)

The Lines for Berlin:

In this region, you search in vain for routine and predictability. There are not many other lines on the Astro Map where similar dynamic potential such as that of the Mercury/Uranus crossing exists. The rejuvenating and progressive quality turns this place into a wellspring for mind and spirit.

Your quick grasp of complex concepts leads to an intuitive and paradoxical way of thinking, understanding and acting. You meet unusual and extravagant people who give you a completely new perspective on life. Attitudes and points of view you would have discounted in the past now become vitally important. You are at the heart of the matter, and become a trendsetter and revolutionary in your ideas.

Oftentimes, it can be difficult to deal with the flood of ideas and impressions. What is "in" today, is history tomorrow. Breathtaking events and a massive overflow of information can easily break up your energy, or make you appear superficial. This place is ideal for scientific research, working with computers and electronic gadgets, as well as astrological and esoteric studies.

Yup...that's Berlin for you!

Yup...that's Berlin for you!

But you have to put in your own birthdate info for the lines to have meaning for you!

I have no idea what time Germany was born! Only the date and place (Versailles) of Wilhelm I's proclamation.....But it makes perfect sense to me that Germany would be Capricorn....hard working, no-nonsense, orderly, perfectionist..ect. Fits them to a tee! :)

This is what I get for Berlin....

Venus/MC Line

More beneficial on the eastern side of the line.

These places are predestined for artistic and creative people. Here they are likely to receive praise, encouragement and social acceptance. Under very beneficial influences, this could even lead to being "discovered", and reaping substantial financial rewards. In any event, this placement is excellent for public appearances, presentations and successful gala nights.

Quite generally though, this influence can help you to discover how to enjoy "getting across" to the public. You enjoy being in the limelight, being admired by others and holding their attention just by being yourself. Your career can be greatly helped by this aspect. You develop your talents, enjoy an aesthetically pleasing and elegant lifestyle, and appreciate the value of a cultivated manner.

This placement strongly emphasises money, property and all material possessions. These areas lend themselves to every type of lucrative business and financial undertaking. However, a strong sense of ambition can tempt you to ever greater expenditure, and you could be drawn into a subtle form of competition for affluence and prestige.

Clothing, designer labels and luxury items become important status symbols and serve to reinforce your social position. There is a danger of placing too much importance on appearances, and you could become the victim of your own vanity.
