At one time they said Wroc³aw, but that might have been wishful thinking. It will depend on the stadium and they are all being upgraded.

The opening match is scheduled to be staged at the new 70,000-capacity National Stadium in Warsaw when construction work is completed in 2009 at a cost of €400 million.

The final will be held at Kiev's redeveloped Olympic Stadium.

I imagine the opening game will be in one country and the final in another. Although, friends say the opening game and final will be at the same ground.
Why should the final be in the capital ? The Polish national side don't normally play in Warsaw.
I think Wroclaw will fight for it so that they can show the city off. Wroclaw also wants to hold EXPO at some time in the future.
We can be a greedy city.

Wroclaw Olympic Stadium........... 35,000. Not good enough.

That's why we are getting a bigger stadium ........ fit for.a final.

Problem. No-one has drawn up the plans yet. It's really to early to argue about it.

To be honest I have no idea who has the biggest stadium at the moment.

Let's hope Poland will gain many European-standards stadiums at least thanks to Euro 2012 (that will be the greatest long-term investment for Poland and Polish soccer overall).

here here! this will be a great oppurtunity to develop them and other sectors of poland (roads, tourism, police (as big events do), health (as it must be available for this in a MAJOR way) etc etc

It will get alot of sponsorship from UEFA, FIFA, EU, not to mention Foreign investors in the form of companies wishing to get advertising space in and around stadiums

Yep - now when I sometimes go through Atlanta, GA (that held Summer Olympics several years ago), it's always a pleasure to drive through the city since the roads are still shiny and beautiful :).

Congrats Poland and Ukraine!
In the Ukraine for Euro-2012 in cities Donetsk (Донецьк) new stadium l'll ready in May,2008 (cost 250 mln.euro) and
in Dnipropetrovsk (Дніпропетровськ) new stadium cost 65 mln.euro l'll be ready in August,2007.First match in september Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk will play against Borussia Dortmund.
In Kyїv (Київ) they going to build new stadium(cost around 200 mln.euro),
same in Lviv.
Reserve cities are Odesa (Одеса) and Charkiv (Харкiв).
Now just need to build two new motorways from Warsaw to Kyїv and from Wroclaw to Charkiv!Small things...

The new stadiums will surely help the PZPN and Poland in general. New stadiums means a new infrastructure that will mean more money, mainly for Poland since Ukraine is not EU. the new polish stadiums will attract top caliber players from around the world, and since euro is going to be in Poland, many other teams have begun investing in this. here is a list of the following teams upgrading their stadiums by 2012.

legia warszawa
zaglebie lubin
wisla krakow
lech poznan
slask wroclaw
lechia gdansk
lks lodz
widzew lodz
wisla plock

hopefully now, polish teams will have a chance to put more teams into champions league group stage........isnt it crazy to think that all cause of stadiums and euro 2012. its amazing how this event has such an impact on the economy and well being of an entire country. I'm proud of Poland and what she has done over the years, so much has been rebuilt and progressed throughout the past few decades.
