Hello,

I stumbled on this site just surfing the net and found it interesting enough to stop and read what other members had to say. I left Poland in 1980 and live in The USA since. I just visit my family every few years. We keep in touch via SKYPE, GG and of course - the phone.

Geeez, I think, I might be one of the oldest members here!

I spent a half of my life in United States and feel somewhat disconnected from polish issues.
No, I did not forget where I came from. I just give my full attention to this country, which gave me so many opportunities.

Greetings to all,

Eurola

Welcome, Eurola! What part of the U.S. do you live and what part of Poland are you originally from?
This is a good site and I must say, the other members on here definitely are informative as well as entertaining.
Hope you stay around for a while!

Hi Ranj,
I came from from beautiful forests of Kielce district, a dauther of forest ranger
My love for nature stays with me and I could hug every tree I pass by. (Wouldn't it be fun to do? And, for other people to watch?)
I live in Chicago suburb now.
Yes, I like this website too and will check in now and then. The opinions here vary, but that's what all's about. We can't think the same. The world would be VERY boring.
Greetings,
Leska

Thanks Huegel,

Some discussions are pretty mean, but Hey - they are somebody's opinions.

Hello Eurola
I guess we both stumbled onto this site and you joined 1 day before me.

Jim, I know all the places you mentioned

There are many good people there and interesting things to do. Going to Lake Michigan was a favorite thing to do. When we were teenagers we would ride our bicycles there and ride the bicycle path along the beach North to Evanston,or South to Soldiers Field.
Are you ready for the Holidays?

Hello Jim,
I agree, it seems like the NW side of Chicago is "owned" by polish people or of polish hertige I used to live around Milw/Foster, Addison/Kedzie and Montrose/Pulaski... I know the city very well. The side streets were always nice, quiet...Hopefully still so.

I'm still in process of getting ready...I'm not crazy about all this gift shopping and all the hoopla, but it's fun anyway.

Yes, we're somewhat new here. This website is addictive, but my eyes are so tired from staring at the computer at work that I have to skip some evenings and do not turn the comuter on. A strong will indeed!

Sunny UK? Just don't forget your umbrella bpss!

Jim, I wave at you as you pass by Chicago! I'm staying home visiting with friends. Did not feel like flying to NY to see my sister. Besides, traveling on Holidays? Hmmm, no, no.

You right. It's faster and you have a destination in mind.
However, I love long car trips as a tourist. I visited many states driving...I enjoy visiting small towns on the way
I hope your father is at a nice senior care facility. Just last night I read an article about nursing homes. It was horrifying.

I also like to drive and see the country on a vacation, but when it is to be with my family,I like to get there right away to spend time with them. I also do not like to drive 18 hrs each way during the winter. He gets good care there. Thank you

I agree. It's no fun driving in the winter.
Some day I hope to spend some of my retirement years traveling gypsy style in RV!

Jim,
I took off tomorrow and Monday. That's why I'm here! Otherwise, I'd be in bed getting my beauty sleep.

I'm using my vacation days or they will be gone forever (a mean corporation). I will also bum around two days after Christmas. Yppee.

I need to finish shopping, gift wrapping and standing in line at the post office. Yuck.

Polish genes are better than Levi's any day.
We have the same vacation policy, Use them or loose them.
You will be fine, its not that bad. Go to the post office early.

And I also improve with every wash, just like Levi's.

It is almost midnight and my bedroom is calling me. I'm not a night person.
In addition, having 3 beers at our X-mas office party and and lots of junk food made me slugish even more.

Goodnight Jim.

If anyone wants to listen to european "oldies" mixed with polish songs I recomend

radiostacje.com

I listen to Złote Przeboje 88.4 FM

It may help some to "practice polish"
