is a bad bad idea imo based on the answer to the simple question of who would have control over this military. it becomes an even worse idea when one ponders as to whether or not this military could become involved in the internal affairs of various member states. and lastly the existence of Kosovo only brings the greater problems to the table.

+1 x 100%.
I do not trust any organization with a standing army taken from various nations, but which does not answer to any of them, otherwise, a simple alliance as in the past, works just fine.

If I recall correctly they voted in favor of one of their silly resolutions when Giertych proclaimed his plan to ban "homosexual propaganda" from schools. Anyway such activity from their side would not be a surprise, MEPs are much more stupid that euro-commissioners. When governments ratify Reform Treaty, MEPs will gain more importance and this is scary...

Jacques Delors (yes, of course from France), former president of the European Commission few years ago claimed that the EU was created to start economic war against the US. The EU army is a bad news for your country, maybe silly but always new potential opponent. Otherwise NATO (maybe upgraded) should be enough to satisfy them.

Slavs should pledge to create Slavic security forces

That was already done, it was called the USSR. Anyone want to see that again?

The Slavic character of these forces will be defined by the fact that everyone refuses to take orders, especially from the Russians?

Or will it be based on Slavic brotherly love, like it was in Yugoslavia?

Yugoslavia, a noble idea was hijacked by the communists who used it as a dungeon of nations and to suppress nationalisms as well as to imprison political opponents.

On another topic I had already written about the Soviet Union and it's creators who were mostly not of Russian origin.

EU HUMAN RIGHTS CONCERNS

Poland
The opposition Civic Platform party won early parliamentary elections in late October 2007 and formed a coalition with the Polish Peasants’ Party a month later. The outgoing government blocked the EU’s adoption of October 10 as the European Day against the Death Penalty. The day was subsequently proclaimed by the Council of Europe.

In April the European Parliament adopted a resolution that referred to the climate of state-sponsored homophobia in Poland. In May the ECtHR ruled that the Warsaw mayor’s decision to ban the 2005 Equality Parade contravened free assembly and association under the European Convention. In June the Council of Europe human rights commissioner criticized Poland’s policies towards lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities in a report on Poland’s compliance with the European Convention.

You are correct...and by the way, as far as Slavic brotherhood & unity go, I am for it...are many people of Slavic descent 'self-hating Slavs'?...this doesn't mean that Slavs have to agree with one another about everything...and, why can't the P{oles even entertain the idea of Russia as a neighbor or maybe even a possible partner?...
this is an irrational position...the only danger with Russia is if the same 'creators' of communism are still in power today...I think not...what do you think?

In case with forces of Slavic Alliance or Union... there would be- low, constitution, proffesional force, strict control by parliament of Slavia and governmant, transparency, democratic mechanisms, free journalism, etc.

So, my answer (on the first look) would be- I would obey to constitution of Slavija and all eventual wishes for changes I would seek to promote thru [schlachta ;) ] democratic mechanisms
