Hey everybody,

i'm moving to warsaw this friday (20th aug) after living in china for 4 years. I have some questions about what a 17 year old can buy in poland.

1) can i buy beer? alright its not to party but back in beijing where i lived when i would go grocery shopping i used to be able to buy beer for my dad just as a normal part of shopping. is this possible in like a small convenience mart, or even a large supermarket?

2) IS THERE ENERGY DRINKS?? in beijing i was in heck because i couldnt get a can of monster unless i wanted to spend 28rmb ($4!!!)

3) can i buy marlboro at 17? in china there was no purchase age and i kinda got hooked and when i left i was smoking 3 a day. so im not a heavy smoker i just used it to calm down from school.

any help would be greatly appriciated :) if you think telling a 17 year old about smoking is wrong and evil please dont post anything, i run a mile every other day as part of track so i dont think its that big a health risk for the recreational smoker.

thanks :) when i get to poland il try to help people on this site

Pgtx, there are MANY more energy drinks than Red Bull. The market here is awash with all kinds of them. Bullet, Dominator, Tiger, R20 and MANY others. Even Piast Gliwice have their own one. I recommend the cheaper ones as they do the same thing. They have the same levels of caffeine and taurine. I'd recommend Isotonic stuff more. They have Powerade, Gatorade and even Górnik Zabrze have their own stuff.

Avoid Red Bull and Coca Cola's Burn, they are overpriced and only fine if you have no alternatives.

Oh no, they have so many on the shelves here. Even Rossman has their equivalent in West Bull :) I can see many bottles and cans in my mind but forget their names. It would shock you, pgtx, they are everywhere.

Well, in more than one type of place. Społem shops, Piast, supermarkets, Żabki and other places.

Well, in Gliwice they do :) It's conservative and they don't get rid of things easily.

Unless you go to the shop and say "I am 17 y.o. and give me that beer, please!" you should have no troubles. If you not look like a kid no one is going to ask for your ID. Well, most of the time. If so, just go to another shop.

Hi

I am traveling there in October - do you know if the stores carry monster energy blue or rock star no sugar - I know this sounds dumb but I don't drink coffee and I am a zombie without my daily kick

I will be in Warsaw then Krakow do they have store chains for groceries or clothing (like Target or walmart?)

no walmart, no target. but we have tesco! ;D

you won't find nice clothes in hipermarkets. We have chain apparel stores as H&M, Zara, Bershka, etc. If you are asking about shopping malls (in poland called galerie handlowe - trade galeries), like this:

mokotow

then there is plenty of it!
