any other natural repellants.

I find mosquitos repellant and generally this is a mutual thing but this year I am bloodbank central! Seems to be my feet, and everyone else I know also is getting bitten there.

Yes I know I could wear wellies, before someone says :)

try " Off " ( not joking ) , available in most pharmacies. We've tried a good few & find this the best of them.

I havent noticed too many of them this year, I usually get annihilated by them, avoid anything with deet as if you use to much it will make you ill, Could try that mosquito sound on loop, provided you have no children or dogs in the house you shouldn't be able to hear it.

This morning around 7:30 am i was in a comatised state and i actually felt for the first time one of those little pesky mosquitos sting me on the arm. I cant stand those little buggers. I have installed insect blinds and i have a net around the bed.

Fair play to that one getting through.

You should use something that contains 20-30% DEET (N,N-Diethyl-meta-toluamide). It's one of the most common formulas, and the most effective. Toxicity is low for humans, and you never know about other formulas they try to make you buy.

If you take a OTC antihistamine (eg. Loratadyna or Cetyryzyna) before getting bitten by mosquitoes you will reduce the symptoms.

I knew a guy who was on steroids thus had very high blood pressure, after a work out making his blood pressure even higher a mosquito bit him and exploded. Do you believe that?

No. Because they bite into small veins and capillaries (not arteries). The pressure in these types vessels are very low even if you have high (arterial) blood pressure. So I would say it's medically impossible. If it exploded, ruptured or whatever, it must have been because of something else.

How about an arteriovenous fistula for Hemodialysis patient, bigger than a vein and pressure is great :)

yeah I believe that - there is no way a mosquito can stop the blood to enter it's body after it inserts this little tube into your body unless it pulls it out - you can even make mosquitos explode on your skin - you need to pull your skin to the sides with your fingers so much so that the mosquito's tube is stuck in your skin and unable to pull this little tube out - I haven't succeeded with that but know guys who did (not all parts of the body are suitable)
