Children in Apartment Playgrounds

I live in a complex of flats in Krakow that has a playground for the children of the tenants - my flat happens to overlook this area. My god - the noise is simply atrocious tonight! These parents allow their children to run around with horns and bells with absolutely no regard for their neighbors. I understand the need to exercise and wear down their children, but can't these parents do it without giving their little snot machines the added noisemakers? How can these people be so dense?

I used to live about 2 km from a busy airport in America - tonight, I truly miss the sound of jets going overhead every 2-3 minutes...

Oh dear, You sound like the Kiddy Catcher!.Face facts, children make noise, the parents are by no means dense, they are "imune" to the noise, this happens over time....

My advice:

Move house, get one without a playground or get some ear plugs.

organize a party with loud people, loud music, buzz and open windows...

Oh please, don't be such a grouch. Kids have every right to play in a playground. Maybe your apartment shouldn't be so close by. What do you expect, anyway?

That would be fine, if parents of brats would respect my right to play loud music and party until dawn.

The less brutal act than sniping those brats with an ASG gun would be to hang some explicit poster that the parents wouldn't like their children to watch.

its one things, kids running around playing...its another thing when they are given 'aids. to make even more noise....Maybe get in contact with the managment company and ask them to up up a 'nicely' worded notice...Failing that, put one up yourself in all the lifts...

Yeah. I Know what you mean. I have given up putting up threads here as i cant stand the unhelpful replies you get. Some people have too much time on their hands and need an outlet to deal with their childhood issues .

In relation to you issue, also think about putting a 'nicely' worded notice in all letter boxes. Mention that you too have a baby and that, with the noise, it is very hard to get the baby to sleep in the evenings. Of course, you understand their childs need to play, but if they could just do it a little bit quieter....!!!

Yeah...but this seems to be the norm for most of these playgrounds.

how old are these kids ?

the very young are not out in the yard in the late hours.

teenagers usually have better things to do than playing with 'horns and bells'

Some of you people are not to kid friendly, are you?
Although I disagree with using any additional devices to make noise, kids have the right to play and they should - instead of watching TV or playing computer games. It really depends how often it happens, how noisy and how late it's done...
I'm sure you can bring it to the attention of the parents if it happens after 10 pm. If it does not help, you may also call the police...people in the USA usually go this route. Every state, city or town has a curfew how long the kids can be outside, depending on their age too. Hopefully there is something similar in Poland.

Sandpits are ideal places to plant a few anti personel mines... the one i would recommend is the Russian made zleg d20...This pops up about ten feet in the air , then explodes scattering lethal ball bearings over a wide area...its copied from the second war German made schu mine...

the VietCong has a version of this which the American GIs christened the bouncing Betty

it used to go off at waist height with devastating effect

how about just digging a panji trap in the sand pit?
it is realitively low tech solution

rather than lining the hole with sharpened bamboo spikes, you could use sharpened coloured pencils so that another small child is suspected and not you

bear traps work well too, I have been told

Yes a trap lined with sharpened coloured pencils will be the ideal solution....

connecting the swings and see saw to mains electricity would discourage any noisey play on these devices....

what I really love is that everytime we make a comment about maiming children with a homemade booby trap, this advertisement pops up advertising playground equipment
