Polish Companies Likely to Face Gas Shortages as of Late October

The Yamal contract between PGNiG and its Russian peer Gazprom expires on October 20 and the new one, already agreed upon by Poland and Russia, now faces objections from the EU.

The weekend talks between Poland, Russia and the EU have not brought any breakthrough and will be continued this week.

Poland could be neighborhood 1.5 billion cubic meters short on natural gas imports in Q4 to meet demand while keeping the system safely fed, officials told a news conference.

It costs less than that anyway, who said im chopping down trees? I have enough wood in my park just to pick it up of the floor or perhaps take a branch or two if need be. I was actually looking at some branches today some have around 5 m3 in one.

Also i have trees that have fallen naturally, so sometimes i just hack them up, problem is their soft woods and not so good for a fire.

Anyway when is heating by coal going to be made illegal?

i'm sick of coughing my guts up every winter, even in the so called Middle class detached suburbs.

It is a sick joke. Literally.

Poland is still in the Dark Ages and thr government seriously needs to get an education and get some EU grants kicking in to replace coal in urban areas. An absolute priority number one in my book. Never mind the politics of "but the miners......." Fcuck em.

My heat comes from a radiator which is neither gas or electric. The only gas I use is for cooking, so I really don't care if this winter is cold. I already know how to cope with the cold.

I am kinda hoping for a mild winter this year , after almost freezing to death in my old farm last winter , and it seemed to go on for so dam long...! However , this will be my last winter in Polska , my last winter alone , next winter i will be in Moscow , where my Russian girfriend assures me it will be as warm as California in the summer....I am sure she wouldn,t lie to me...????

Reason for the post: Why is Poland purchasing nat gas from the heavy handed Ruse-ski's after what they did to the Ukraine in what was it, 2008? Cutting off their gas supply. Looks like it's going to be a cold winter.

Better to start using what Poland has, coal and agriculture. Coal gasification plants and build anaerobic digesters from agricultural waste which would generate methane for your gas lines.

Actually , last year Moscow was about the same tempreture as here in Pomerania , but i am aware it can get pretty dam cold over there...

Her appartment is pretty warm though , and when we go looking for a house in the forest , one of the priorities will be to choose a wooden house that is well insulated...

My farm in Poland has one of those big wood burning heaters , and its very effective , but the old windows and roof let all the heat it produces out into space....

Probably a good heat source should be "Biomass". Biomass is a mix of waste from carpenters, non-useful timber and other debris cleanups of parks and forests, used to burned in a boiler. It's really cheap and all cities and any National Park produce enough biomass to heat more than a city. Thanks for listen me
