Electronics in Poland

I'm curious about what kind of electronics are popular in Poland, and with which age groups?

For example, here in the US, almost all teens have either a Nintendo, Playstation, or and Xbox along with a computer. They are always updating and buying new versions of all four of these. (staying inside most of their lives as well :P)

Hand-held gaming devices are popular too.

So what kind if trinkets do my friends in "home-country" enjoy most?

In my neighborhood it is cell phone with mp3. They'd gather around, listen and spit sunflower seeds around, cursing a lot. There's some craze going about small motorbikes now as we have cheap imports from China. Sending tons of sms a day, too is hot. Those are 11-13 by my judgment.

They are less aggressive then in US I think.I noticed we also have grils only groups hanging on streets. Something not so visible a year or two ago. They get this empowerment from media I think as we have had recently some shows, adds making fun of males. They are all but nuisance to cleaning people but generally harmless and polite in fact.

Teens here in the US, for the most part, are very stuck up and obviously were not spanked when they needed it. Don't get me wrong, there are still good kids here, but a lot of them have no respect for adults or the people around them.

I see...Poland is far more advanced than I thought. I thought they all just lived in caves and colored on the walls using charcoal...seeing as they are so backwards.

Kids are more respectful toward adults here. They say "good morning" and give way on sidewalk. It is not like teenagers go harassing someone on bus (I've seen it while in US several times). They are here loud and go as far as smashing bus garbage container on way out, running away. :) Unlike in US you are also not on your own when in trouble, you can count on some help from others in public places.
I don't mean to smash US kids on street here lol Here though they are not so eager with their fists. Verbally though many here are strangely fascinated by prison life and cheating and stealing. I guess it is similar everywhere in inner cities.

How much would a 2GB Pentium Core Duo cost in Poland (average)? I don't know if I should pay for excess luggage and bring ours or leave it here and buy a new one in Poland.

In case you are looking to buy electronics and need to find english speaking staff, try the newly opened Sony Style at mall Arkadia, located on the floor above the food court, on the right of the ticketing counter for cinema tickets. They open everyday of the year, except for the religious holidays where all shops (except petrol stations) will be closed.

Hi, I am an American student going to Poland to study and I was wondering if I should buy a computer monitor here and pay the expensive shipping, or if I could buy a comparable monitor in Poland and forgo the expensive shipping cost. I have never been to Poland before so I am ignorant to what products they have over there and whether or not they are more or less expensive than in the US. Any help is much appreciated.

Do all you Americans think that the rest of the world is stuck in the middle ages! You can buy anything here that you can buy in the US pretty much. May be slightly more expensive, but the cost of shipping will easily offset any benefit of purchasing in US. Look at prices here to compare. http://www.electroworld.pl/kat,165,komputery-monitory

US electronics won't work in Poland, wrong voltage.

It's in Polish, but you should manage the navigation. Type in the symbols of the part you're looking for or just go through all of it. If you find any item of interest, click the orange "Porównaj ceny" tab on the right and there you have a list of shops and the prices.
