English speakers near the Mazury Lakes

hotcarl  Oct 9, 09, 00:39    #1
Hi

My wife and I have just started working at LEKTOR School in Mragowo, a small town about an hour from Olsztyn and in amongst the Mazury lakes.

We're the only English speakers in the town and are basically looking for other English speakers in the same sort of area who would like to meet up for a drink and a chat. We can speak some Polish, but we'd just like to be able to speak to other English speakers too.

We're in our 20s and have a car, so we can get to you even if you can't get to Mragowo.

Thanks

Hi Andrew. Yes, it would be good to meet. I'm having trouble with PMs at the moment. Think my account isn't properly registered. You can try PMing me, or I'll try you again tomorrow.

I visit Olsztyn at least once a year. I am from there and have family there. it would be nice to meet other people who live in and around the city. the only thing is i am not planning on visiting until next summer. although i would be curious to know how you all like living around there and what you do for work? i have been thinking lately of moving back there.

Hi everyone from The Lakes area.I'm Polish but my husband is English. We are spending most of our time in winter in Poland. As my husband doesn't speak any Polish (except few swearing words) it will be nice to meet some english-speakers in nearest area.We have a car and loads of time on our hands except the times when we are fighting with builders or traders as we are building a house.Loking forward to meet someone :)

Hey all! I am American and live in Lomza. My husband is Polish. We are in our mid thirties ( but still cool LOL).

I would love to meet more native speakers in this northern area! Pm me if you will ever be in this area!

Hi,

My name is Doug and I work in Gizycko and live in a small village nearby. I am English and I have a Polish wife, Wanda. I have lived in Poland for just over five years, so it would be great to meet or chat with other English speakers.

I'm a little bit older than you at 45, but I'm not ready for my bus pass yet! I have my own school in Gizycko and would love to hear from fellow English speakers.

It is nice to know I am not the only English speaker in these distant parts, and it would be good to meet as I have been known to enjoy an occassional drink!

There are quite a few NS in Olsztyn, me being one. I believe there's even a little ex-pat circle.
