Can anyone advise of any English speaking hairdressers in Warsaw?

I know of a Toni & Guy hairdresser in the Hyatt Regency Hotel but judging from the website this is only available for hotel guests.

All suggestions welcome:-)

It may have even been on the 28th of December 2007 when I had my hair cut in a different part of Poland by a hairdresser who made up for her lack of English-speaking by being the nicest looking woman to have cut my hair in living memory. I couldn't tell her what to do with my hair (limited Polish), she couldn't warn me what she was going to do to my hair (no English at all), but it all worked out fine in the end (only I didn't get her phone number).

So, have a sense of adventure - take a risk. You might get the haircut of your life.

... and you get a hair cut and a one-2-one Polish conversation lesson for one price, absolute bargain!

Well, in the end I went to a hair-salon opposite the Sheraton in Warsaw. (can't remember the actual name)

But he was english speaking and a very good hairdresser to match. What is more, I was supplied with two glasses of champagne!

Saying that, I'd instantly swap for a beautiful Polish female hairdresser!

Happened to notice this last night while walking home and remembered this thread. Anyway I walked past a hairdresser at ul. Polna 18 called 'Hair Time' has signs in the window saying they speak French and English they also have a website, hairtime.pl. Never been there but it looked like a good set up, very professional. I go to the JL David salon opposite the Mariott hotel. They're very good and they do cheap cuts all day Wednesday, not sure about the English speaking though. You must be about due for your next haircut mate :)

About the one on Polna 18, I went there after reading this (today) and it's pretty good. Price for a haircut was 50 zloty which is cheaper than back home (Holland).. don't know about polish prices. They do speak some english though I'm quite sure they're not farmiliar with french grammar seeing the text on their window claiming they speak french... The shop is quite luxury as they wash your hair in massage chairs though these chairs will kill your back if you're tall. Next to that you get some mini tv showing some polish channel while you are getting your haircut.

My (very cute) hairdresser in Bródno charges 20 PLN for washing and cutting. Very professional, very good job. No massage chairs, no champagne... just a very good job.
And she has a brilliant smile on top of that. Does not speak English though :)
But then Bródno is an expat-free zone :)

Does anyone still think Poland is cheap? My barber here in the UK charges almost EXACTLY the same (£4.40)! And he speaks English ;)

Hair Club on ul. Noakowskiego (40 metres from the tramstop pl. Politechniki). They speak some English, cost 30zl, and are very, very well thought of.

No problem, it's a pleasure.

If you go, ask for Andrzej who runs it. He does the hair of all sorts of celebrities and really knows his stuff.

The shop's on Noakowskiego, leading off pl. Politechniki. So it's not the barber's shop in pl. Politechniki itself, about which I know nothing.

I don't even want to imagine what kind of awful place you must live in if you can get a haircut for that price!

Even where I'm from, Aberdeen, you won't be getting a haircut for less than 8 pounds anywhere.
