Fascination of Poles with German Laundry Detergent

i mean really.... so many ppl claim that it is far superior to anything found in PL. what gives? Is it really that much better? I bet that 95-99% of ppl wouldn't know which clothes were washed in PL or German detergent in a blind smell/touch test.

There is a booth not far from here with only German washing products. Let's face it, the Germans have some of the best companies. Reckitt Benckiser (hmm...the Vanish company) and Henkel spring to mind. Still, there is only so much variation you can have and some of the Polish ones do the trick quite nicely.

Haha i noticed the detergent obsession. Poles should focus more on getting better better washing machines. Most of the (new) washing machines here ravage clothing.

Poles are fascinated with anything foreign. Some time ago greek cheese was immensely popular in grocery stores - until greek tourists revealed that it had nothing to do with greece. There are many such examples. Fuckin' pathetic if you ask me.

As a ex-employee one of such huge companies I guarantee that products for 'east europe' market got different specification (more extender, more fragrance, less active agents) and different plants for different regions. At least now they got different products for different markets.

this obsession has it's reason- detergents, coffee, coke, etc etc varies from country to country- even if its made by the same company.

Since then Cleanliness and Germany are one, effectively influencing markets.

To date, research has shown that there is not one single recorded case of any Polish person admitting that anything from any other country is better than a Polish made item. ; )

Polish products are often doctored with useless additives. I have found residue of sand in Polish washing powder. Also laundry has come out smelling vile. Don,t particularly care why, I simply buy imported products and have no qualms. I even find purchase from abroad and courier charges cheaper than buying from the internal Polish market. Those of you prepared to be ripped off, carry on, lol.

That's all ok, untill you go abroad and try to find Sidolux - that made me appreciate Polish stuff.

I can only get some cheap (rather:expensive) fakes, like Pledge or Pronto. Every thing is dirty. Only Cif works around the house here.
And I started adding baking soda to every laundry load, to get the fresh feel, because ev erything was always musty.

The funny thing that in the UK the purple couloured chemicals work best - mabe they are a novelty and the chemical companies must add more cleaning agent to make them sell???

Overall, I can appreciate Fairy and OzKleen here. But I still buy Ludwik whenever I can.
