It's coming to the time of year, I need to insure my English car.
Do any companies in Poland insure English cars yet?
If so what company is best?

By English, do you mean RHD, or on English plates?

don't think so - as RHD cars are mostly not legally approved to be registered here - you want to use it in Poland be prepared to have to travel to the UK every year to renew your MOT and insurance

providing you are willing to make the trek back to the UK once a year in order to get your car MOTed, you are much better insuring in the UK

the price of car insurance in Poland is twice the price compared to the UK

bad roads, loony drivers, anyone can drive anyone's car if the car is insured and they have a licence, car theft and many people making bogus claims on the insurance have all boosted up the premium

Huh? My UK insurer quotes me five times as much as my Polish insurer - 900zl vs 900 pounds, for exactly the same vehicle.

you must be joking hythorn - it's the first time I ever heard anyone saying car insurance in the UK is cheaper than in Poland - first time insurers in the some parts of the UK (like Northern Ireland) pay through their nose for their insurance (1000 £ or more for a Vauxhall Vectra brrr that hurts)

I've got a 1988 2-litre BMW; hardly an object of value. I stuck my details into the website of the insurer I used back in the UK, using all the data I have in Poland (so 5 years no claims, no points, over 26, garaged overnight blah blah blah) and got a quoted price of just under 1000 pounds. And this is just for TPFT or OC as it's called in Poland; no 24/7 callout repair engine transplant insurance, just your basic package.

From what I hear from my English colleagues, UK insurance is a massive joke these days, with prices just going up and up and up.

Try that with a price comparison site such as go-compare and you'll probably get that down to about £550. It has sky rocketed in the UK though, its all these whip lash claims.

my Jeep which is less value than the Mondeo costs 700 quid to insure fully comp

It was only curiosity; I'm not moving back to the UK so I have no real interest in it. But 500 quid is nowhere near 200 quid, which is what I pay in Poland for a car registered in the centre of Warsaw.

A rare and beautiful phrase, seldom seen on PF. My compliments.
We pay about 430PLN OC for our 2001 Daewoo. 60% no claims. (Well) over 26!
