Does anyone know if Poland offers any sort of recycling for used batteries? I am talking about the ones from our cameras and mp3 players, not automobile batteries. If so, can you tell me where to do this in Krakow? Thanks!

Yes, there's a campaign called "Lub Las" which put up boxes to collect batteries all over Krakow. Look out for cardboard boxes in various shops and cafes. I know there's a box in Les Couleurs on pl. Nowy, the post office on pl. Nowy, Piekarnia Mojego Taty on ul. Meiselsa and Wine Garage on ul. Jozefitow. There's a full list here: http://www.lublas.pl/content/44-baterie.html

There is a box in my local post office where you leave batteries.

Of course. Any shop that sells batteries should accept used ones. Sometimes there are containers for it. I have seen them in Krakow in IKEA, Castorama, Bonarka shapping centre and many others.
