If you remember the name and the street, I am interested. BTW, Haven't made it to Kamienica theatre yet, but my wife has and liked the play she saw.

La Bono www.labono.pl It offers mainly Indian food and some European as well. First reports are promising but aren't from people who really know their curry. I'm planning a trip there tomorrow. There's also a new Indian place in Mokotow somewhere. Planning a trip there on Friday!

I've never seen anything in Kamienica. Frankly I'm not sure how I'd feel about sitting in the dark in the basements of a former gestapo HQ, who knows what went on down there!

A friend and I are splitting a 10 liter bucket of hot sauce from a Vietnamese distributor. 70 zl. I'm on a Sechuan kick at the moment. I'm gonna die from fire:)

It's not about quantity, it's about quality. Try www.ostrakuchnia.pl My personal tips are Blair's After Death sauce (Sudden Death is pretty much too strong to use and both Mega Death and Ultra Death are of the 'stupidly hot' variety), Mustard Gas sauce (half a bottle nearly put my mate in the drunk tank but that's another story) and Death Rain Habanero chips.

By the way, one friend told me that Islamic Indian Food and the Classical Indian Food has some differences. There is a certain Indian food with the Islamic touch (basically a fusion of Persian, Arabic and 70% Indian ingredients and recipie). I had no opportunity to verify his claims... but I have tried Indian food a few times, and it have been quite varied....makes me think if its true....ANY INDIAN TO CONFIRM THIS STATEMENT?

ok here goes...there is nothing really called indian food as such. there are 27 different states in india and the food in each one of them is completely different from one another. uncomparable. but bangladeshi food is a lot like Bengali food(being so close to west bengal) and tradtitionla islamic north indian food. Majority of food in bangladesh is based on fish(same as in West Bengal) but being a muslim country they also have the tradition nihari and biryani. thats what i know(not much since i dont cook for nuts).

how many polish stores in india?

probably the same amount of indian stores in poland.

It depends on the foreign population in the country. There are not many Polish people in India (I would imagine), therefore there are no specialty Polish stores. There is a sizable Indian population in Poland, so there are stores to fit that...

Hi

Have just moved to Krakow.

Did find some shops that do sell Indian Groceries although limited. There is a shop in Galeria Krakowska on the ground floor that has some decent products(Ghee, Masalas, Rice Flour, Besan, Pulses, Rice, etc) - limited but good.

The other places you can find stuff is either Tesco's or Carrefour - limited.

If anyone has more info on shops where to buy Indian Groceries in Krakow - let me know

Hi Arya,

Its such a relief to know that tesco and carrefour sell some indian stuff. I'll be @ krakow in July. Being vegetarians, I was getting worried if I'll be able to find any indian groceries. Will get in touch with you some time close to July. Which is the best place to pick an apartment? Any indian neighbourhood?

Sounds OK, but if you want to go to an actual shop, there's one in Raszyn sort of behind the old church on the main road.
