Hi,

I am going to Lodz i September.

Can I bring my Irish car?

Do I need to re-register it and it is complicated / expensive if I do?

Will I have to get it tested, taxed and insured in Poland or will my Irish insurance do?

Also....

Edited: You already have a thread about housing. PF Mod

If your car is a right hand drive I don't think it can be register in poland (that was the case last year when I tried)plus since I am living here and have my rhd that I still pay tax on nct and insurance at my Irish address. The best bet is do just buy a cheap polish car and sell it when you are returning to ireland

Yea, that'd be the best thing to do lad

You can get a half decent car in poland for anything between 5000-8000
it's be old but it';ll get you from a to b and if you're only here for a small time it'll be sound.

you wont get insured on a right-hand drive in poland, you oculd get insured in ireland but you'll have to tell them you're goin be in poland and they'll prob charge ya a bomb.

If I were you I'd buy one here, check out prices on
go to allegro.pl and search for the model you want.
Do it in google chrome though, it'll translate it for you coz the site doesn't have an english version

Not so simple - he'll need a valid zameldowanie (registration of address) to do so. Not so straightforward if your landlord refuses permission!

i'd advise you buy a LHD with an irish reg in ireland and drive it over. There are always over a dozen for sale at any time on the websites. You cannot register a RHD here, despite the government losing a case in the European courts. When you get here with the car you could then change the reg.
