You will encounter ignorance virtually everywhere.

Much to my benefit today, actually.

I was getting the bus to the school with two of my fellow teachers - but as one of my friends had got there way before me and the other one, she ended up with some dour businessman-type sitting next to her. Of course, we get there and start talking in English about all sorts of nonsense (which probably really did sound like nonsense to him). After about five minutes, he clearly had enough and got up and sat elsewhere, which was nice :)

Although my pet hate is when people on buses here will try and sit next to you on one of those slightly-too-big-for-one-person seats. I'm developing new ways of irritating them as we speak, grrrr!

Hi Shelly,

I am going to Ireland for the X-mas too :)
I do not miss ireland so much, sometimes.
But I do not want to live in Ireland.
I might move from here in a few years, I don't know where to.
But who knows anything can happen in a few years.
Take care of yourself.
And keep in touch.

A few different reasons.
It rains too much.
I love to travel.
I feel that if I were to move back, that I would be moving backwards in my life.
I don't feel like I have anything to move back to, everything has changed there and I have changed.
I get very frustrated there after a couple of weeks, too many ghosts, you know memories of things past, some great, some not so great.

I know it is difficult when you have to leave a country for financial reasons.
It has happened to me before, it feels like the choice was made for you.

All I can say that will help you, is to learn the language, it helps an awful lot.

Buy a few aeroplane tickets home so you will not miss it so much.

I have only ever gotton homesick once, not in this country and things were really bad at the time, I just jumped on a plane and flew home.

I love Ireland, it is my birth place and I will always feel very close to it, even if i am not but I just felt it was time for me to move on.

"When I was a child, I spoke like a child, thought like a child, and reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up my childish ways."
This quote, Is kind of what it is for me, I have made my life outside of Ireland but like my childhood i will cherish her.

Yeah,
fair enough,
different strokes for different folks.

So are you going to live here and there?.
Or have you made up your mind yet?

It is not easy to learn Polish but over 40,000,000 people speak it, so so can you:)

It's not really.
Most people I know would not want or like to move from where they are.
People who move from country to country are in the minority.
So it is not so sad, at least you tried :) which is more than most people do.
Put it down to experience.
Well, I don't know Paris, I get very mixed reviews about the place, have you been?
Or is it like one of those romantic ideas of how wonderful Paris is in the
the Spring?

I have left Poland 20 years ago and for many year i want to go back. Now when i could go back I am scare. I do not like cigaret smokers and drinkers (alkohol).
Being in Sod. Callfornia for meny years I forgot how to live in cold climate.
Vacation in Poland at summer time is the best option for me.

I know a number of Poles who returned to Poland after many years spent in the USA. They all felt scared at some point but did it anyway, and now are quite happy with their decision. Life is all about growing, testing new waters and challenging yourself. If moving to Poland was your dream for "many years", why not give it a try for a limited time (a year or so)? You might be pleasantly surprised. At least, you'll know that you gave it a chance, and not have any regrets. And if your worst fears come true, you can always go back to SoCal...

Paris is not just a romantic notion. In addition to being one of the most visually beautiful places on earth, it has that certain je ne sais quoi that burrows deeply into your soul and never lets go. I left Paris almost 5 years ago and still dream about it most nights.

Isa thanks for encouragement I like statement "life is about groing" Now I got to the point when I am not sure if I still want to do this. My life change and I change too. Going to live in Poland for one year looks good to me. It would give a chance to my new wife to find out how she can tolerate climate.
