For Warsaw it's minus 19 tomorrow night and Wednesday night. Wednesday daytime has a high of minus 12 but with the windchill, it'll be minus 23. You don't even want to think about the windchill for tomorrow night.

The forcasters exaggerate as usual. In England the bill punishing weather forcasters who are wrong with their forcasts [introduced by Henry VIII, I think] by stamping their bodies with hot iron is still in force. We, in Poland, are much more tolerant to those people.

Ah, but have your 'those people' bollocksed up quite as epically as our 'those people'?

(Not 4 hours after this forecast in 1987, Southern England got wiped out by, yes, a massive hurricane ... )

I was surprised by winter. I woke up Saturday morning (Kraków) to find out snow. Didn't fall yesterday but this morning it was heavy snow. Back to using mountain shoes instead of classy oxfords and monks.

Took a picture with iPhone this afternoon, while walking in Planty :

I prefer it cold, at least it will get rid of the viruses, so maybe a little less sniffing in public places. The one good thing is PL, just seems to get on with it no matter the weather. Many people out there are saying, this winter is going to be extreme, I have the correct clothing so I will manage.

I enjoy it too, but after a couple of days (and the prospect of me having to walk 3 miles to work due to the taxi's might not be on at 5am) kinda makes me wish it would only be a day thing. Though where I lived it looks beautiful on the mountains.

That's disgusting, just plain dirty. I'll be back in Poland in a couple of weeks, also in the UK and am dreading it already. Cold enough here in Istanbul at 20c.

I remember the winter of 2001/2002 in Poland when it was -20 a month straight -25 to 27 over night, in the eastern part of Poland with strong winds, great weather for vodka.
