why do you choose to stay in poland, why not other country?

why do you choose to stay in poland? it's fairly innactractive country, is it only women or ancestry you're after? what can you find here that is better then somewhere else?

It's centrally located, the people are nice, it's not exactly the most expensive place in the world, I like the countryside, there is a feeling of forward momentum, it's not near as boring as western Europe....

You can ask that question anywhere; the grass is often greener.

One thing I find when I go back to UK is that I remember how much I hate neds/chavs, which aren't as prevelant where I am in Poland.

i think is not that much greener then anywhere else, the country have a felling of loneliness and is grayish

There are lots of trees in Poland.And very long view,no mountains.Gothic cities look strange at night and there is always this Slavic excitement.

Do you think they are increasing in Poland though? Or it will never get quite as bad?

i used to think that too, but the fact of the matter is, I can't afford to travel anywhere outside of Poland anyway for I don't own a car and buying plane tickets when you're earning zloties is generally out of the question. Sure, i can fly to London/Dublin for under 200 zloties round trip, but the geographic location of Poland doesn't make the trip any easier/closer.

regarding costs in Poland, being from America, I find Poland unbelievably expensive.

Frankfurt, Berlin, Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Gdansk, Hamburg, Bratislava, Lviv, Munich...all within two hours travel for me. 3 hours gets me Holland, Switzerland, Northern Italy, Croatia, Denmark. Last Saturday I left in the morning for Vienna, met some friends for lunch (Hotel Sacher...mmm sachertorte..), and was back in my house at around 7ish.

If you have more time than money, trains and buses work too.

Everywhere is more expensive than the US. Give that time (hello inflation!).

Or California - why don't you come to California, folks? In California you can just reach out
your hand and pick an orange if you're hungry or you can get a whole big bunch of grapes
off a bush an' ya can quash 'em on yer face an' let 'em run off yer chin. The jobs are plenty
and people live in nice white houses with gardens. Go to California folks, get a 1926 Hudson
Super Six, pack up your things and drive to California!

Not sure. I imagine a lot have gone to UK and been locked up (at least, my friend is a prison officer in Belfast and he says he has a lot).

I don't live in a big city, so it's perhaps not as obvious. Also, Polish kids are often a lot more polite than some Brit kids.

in what, an alien spacecraft? Poland to Holland in 3 hours? Denmark? WHAT? Literally impossible unless you fly, and flying....well....if you got that kinda dough, all the power to you.

Childwithin, are you Polish or...? Fairly unattractive, really? What, in a physical or business sense? It's a sad state of affairs when you go to another country just for the women. What is better? Money isn't everything!

Seanus Poland IS an ugly place. The beautiful nature is the same that is available in all nations of similar latitude. The cities are nasty (and the tiny and often fake "old towns" are again found everywhere) and the weather is horrid most of the year.

You are right money isn't everything but it is needed to live and in Poland things cost more for less quality usually so is it a wonder people are put off?

I lived there for over 10 years and saw costs rise and quality drop or stay the same. You pay Paris prices and get horrible service. It's not worth it.

Some parts are ugly and some aren't. I don't think the natural landscape is matched in Germany or France at all. The UK has horrid weather, is that a sh&thole too?

I agree that prices are far too high. The nouveau riche are seeing to it that prices are hiked up in line with European standards. Ciggies will be 10PLN before too long. They were 5.50 not long ago.

I agree with the service too but sometimes you get pleasantly surprised.

Well, pieczywo for starters. Bread and bread rolls are very tasty :) I'll write more soon, I have a class in 10 seconds.

Dude you haven't been around DE or FR then if you think the nature isn't matched. There is nothing geographically in PL that isn't in the others...mountians, seaside, fields, forests.

And yes I say most of the UK is a hole. There is again beautiful nature in some places but the weather and prices make it miserable often.

You are comparing California to Poland?? HAHAHAHAHAHA. I know lots of Poles who would love to live in CA but not any Californians who would rather live in Poland. That says it all.

But then again if you PREFER horrid weather, non existent customer service, ridiculous bureaucracy and scowls all day long then Poland is probably better for you ;)

well, maybe if you're from uk everywhere is better. here on this forum i've even read someone was keen on polish cosine, wtf???? still i think poland has future, because of its quite young population that is less spoiled and gay as in germany or england. and while i find quite strange the way polish people utilize alcohol, the young population are not such drunkards as their parents. a bit more hardworking also. BUT BLOODY BORING.

i've tried, really tried to like poland and polish people, but failed.

I have seen quite a few poofters on the streets of Warsaw so I don't think it is the gay free haven Poles would like it to be.

People generally move to countries for work or because of relationships...simple..thats what keeps people there!
