Sokrates:
One problem is that mods are not Polish, these guys do a good job but they wont feel for Poles not being Polish themselves (apart from that the fact that "Polishforums" are governed by non-Poles is ridiculous).

Sometimes I wonder if this is like a troll site started by some American Jew (or anyone who doesn't like Poland) knowing it will attract a lot of anti-Polish a'ssholes wishing to slander Poland and it's people.

What, just because not all opinions are golden, you automatically assume so? If you don't like what's written, why come here?

From what I have seen of the way the world works

Good stuff, Mr. S.

Clearly, today "hate crime laws" aren't about addressing true hate at all. And should we even be attempting to punish people for their thoughts during a crime in the first place? How about we just deal with the act itself and leave all the PC horsecrap that has crept into legislation go?

plk123:
ignorance

You.

plk123:
but i will give you that..

You know a little something about this personally, eh. ;)

plk123:
there is still quite the discrimination going on

Sure. Only now reverse discrimination is sanctioned by law.

Bratwurst Boy:
once all sit together and unanimously agree that Whities are prettiest paradise will break out...not racism anymore!

Lol.
MLK's dream of blind racial equality has been hijacked, twisted into reverse racism and paybacks. Many bitter blacks see their racism as justified, thanks to all this BS. Ugly stuff...

d should we even be attempting to punish people for their thoughts during a crime in the first place?

This is a bit vague again.
I think people should not be allowed to stir hatred and hide behind freedom of speech.
Punishing these people is always going to be difficult because it is so easy to make them martyrs. Like that David Irving fella we were talking about.

trener zolwia:

I have not jumped the pond for a while, so I am not up-to-date with what is happening in The good old U. S. of A.

That, to me, is a strange thing to say.
You think there are too many bad things said about Poland on here (I agree) but you automatically blame American Jews? So anyone reading your post would (I think naturally) believe you are the troll.
This is how this site also reflects badly on Poland, if you are to go around blaming a group of people, revealing your prejudices, because you don't like what's being posted.

This is a bit vague again.

Well, does it really matter if someone is thinking "I'm gonna kill you n*gger!" as they plunge the knife into their victim? Isn't it still the same murder regardless of the races of those involved and regardless of what the perp was thinking at the time? So shouldn't we just prosecute the criminal act and not the thought behind it?
This would certainly bring true equal protection of the law for all. It's the only way.

SeanBM:
I have not jumped the pond for a while

I thought you told me (in my previous life here) that you were coming for a visit?
You should come. Just don't accidentally step on a black's foot while you're here or ya could be guilty of a "hate crime". :s

usa has been teabagged or palinized

Ah, there's that deep political insight we all know and love. :s

I think we are talking about different things, freedom of speech is one thing.
If a guy were stabbed because he's black, green or wore glasses, that would have to be taken in to consideration.

Previous life...hmmm.... So you're not the newbie people are accusing you to be.

I am I am, I have some stuff to do but I will be making the jump next year though...
I am looking forward to it!

Why? I mean only about polish history where clearly mods are clueless!
You can keep your libs ramblings - I don't care about it:)

plk123:
some are..

some :D one? and I wont be wide of mark if I say that he know some basic from polish history!

f stop:
You're being sarcastic, right?

Not, about historical thread, I know you don't like me, and you don't like yourself but if there last shred of objectivity left in you, you should support me in this!

trener zolwia:
Clearly bitter blacks see it as a game, as paybacks to whitey who was mean to them so long ago.

law should treat everyone in the same way!

Sokrates
WAS venting his frustrations on the forum - that all there is, sometimes he was being hysterical and you all libs here just poked him with a stick !humanitarian game I guess:(

As much as I am for freedom of speach, I'm afraid this forum is turning into a big hate site. Many homophobes, rasists, mysoginists, misanthropes in general come here trolling, hoping to bring out the worst in all of us. Since any idiot can get an internet account and seemingly have same weight as the rest posting here, others feel they have to step up and counterbalance their opinions. And the name calling begins. And the haters love it! They are given attention where otherwise they would be laughed at or ignored, or limited to trying to call their favorite radio talk show.
The only thing the reasonable people can do is ignore them. And the site turns into embarassing display of low lifes' rants, under the unfortunate name of polishforums.

I think we are talking about different things, freedom of speech is one thing.

Well, it's all related. See, it starts with simple tolerance and then forced "sensitivity", political correction, then it turns into enforced speech codes. Suddenly peeps can't say what's on their minds because it might offend someone else. From there it's a short jump to state sanctioned PC getting legislated into the injustice of selective "hate crime" laws and disparate special victim groups...

And guess which side is responsible for all this divisive crap? Yep, them Lefties again. The unforeseen consequences of their misguided do-gooding "solutions" always end up causing more harm than the problem they are trying to address.

Me, I think things like Holocaust deniers are hate-filled idiots and I challenge them whenever I see them online. But I don't think they should be jailed for spouting their offensive angry idiocy. If we don't let the jerks speak how are we to know who the jerks are and how can we reveal them to be idiots for all to see?

Yes they should. Presently they are not.

They are a bit like instructions for your dvd machine or that satellite box thingy.
Nobody reads them (not real men anyway) but when the sugar hits the blender we can never find'em.

You better be good, you better watch out, you better not threaten, you better not shout...

The Polish Internal Security Agency (ABW) is coming to forums.....

PiS wants political forums monitored and for administrators to inform on users who seem threatening.

if insulting anyone is so OK, why some members constantly whine and complain to the mods that somebody insulted them?
later on, they "fight" for freedom of speech on here, including insults....
make up your minds; don't be hypocrites...

why? known and persisted trolls should be abused on daily bases. Because as long as posts are on topic mods cannot be arsed to do something about malicious and clever trolling.
As for your proportion, Sokrates - no - it would make no sense!

I could flame people without the risk of ban though, i'd be happy, people i insult would be happy, mods would be happy.

It's interesting that the rules expressly state that religious or political discussions should be avoided yet opinions are bandied about quite freely. I'm not complaining, just sayin :)

Sok, what's your rate?
