Dear Admin/Mod/Whoever who just edited my post.

It would be nice and polite to leave some note that the post was edited by the Administration.

If you would also be so kind to state WHY my post was edited - well... - then I may call you a gentleman.

What is it? Covert Special Forces style censorship or what?

Thank you in advance for your kind answer.

Enkidu has a point here. It would be an improvement if there was a reason given as some posts take a while to compose. If the time is taken to sweep them off then it can be taken to make the process more thorough.

A simple coding system would suffice:

O - Off Topic
T - Trolling
F - Flaming
P - Plagiarism
C - Crap content
I - I wish I'd written that -you will Oscar, you will

Did you read the post in question? Apparently they don't have anything better to do then edit posts, might as well have an explanation tagged in red. Gives a good idea of what is acceptable, and what isn't.

That's the thing, pgtx. Many things I've said before were far more on topic than others and still they were swept off. Wroc³aw and PD are highly capable and helpful, that much is true. However, Szarly's code would go a long way towards them not having to answer PMs as to why this or that wasn't right. Teaching is multi-faceted, as is moderating at times. You should know that as many nominated you to be one, myself included.

In this case - the unacceptable content was a certain links to a certain websites that may arise some certain questions. (lol - I am careful. Vewy caweful...)

I can understand admin. As a token of my good will I can even promise that I would not write on this topic again. I don't need a fight.
All I need is Avatars. I hope that the negotiations may be re-open.

Since the Avatar Thread is closed, I will pile on here...

We have enough Indians Posting here, don't we.... ;-)

Well, folks, who will put their money where their mouth is?

That's fine, less trouble and less spent money for me.

That would be all about avatars here.

I hope that wasn't the sound of the door closing...

Wondering if the google ads were pulling in any money. I mean with this busy of a forum, you'd expect something to be coming in from it.

Why did someone deleted a link from the first post in this thread?
Why there is no indication of such action? (such as "Post edited by admin" note)
What the hell is that?

And here is polishforums.com/off-topic-lounge-47/bring-back-avatars-45578/11/#msg9 60091 - the link again.

Will it vanish exactly the same way like the last one?

Because public users (ie. not logged-in) cannot access this page anyway. All links to Off-topic forum are disabled for this reason.

Nay. I just want to know the rules. For instance today I learned that some top secret chapter of the forum rules forbids me to provide links to the off-topic articles. I think it's good to know that.

And now I know that this is OK to edit someone's else post without any sign of such an intervention. Like the first post in this thread. It was edited by the forum rulers. Can you see any sign of that? And again - it's good to know.

Dear Admin!

Why do you keep all the outcasts here, people who got kicked out from other forums for trolling, you kindly keep here in peace and warmth...? And we have to struggle with them. They don't post anything useful about Poland, I'm not even sure if they know where Poland is.

And please, don't tell me that it's US, the PF members, who create that forum and have biggest influence, because it's a load of crap, you just don't want the attention to be focused on YOU-the creator itself.

Hopefully, you will dedicate a minute of your precious time and answer my question.

I already want to thank you if you even read that.

Truly yours,
pgtx

That's not a bad idea, is it a complete version or something else should be added (on the other hand the less the better so this may suffice).
