Our "lifeline" (:P) has been down for a couple of hours.

Jee ... didn't know what to do with myself ... .

I notice the times I post things are GMT -5.

What happened ... ?

Thanks for getting it back online!

the problem was server related and admin improving things.

It's still buggered if you use the basic www.polishforums.com URL on firefox with Linux. append any kind of query string to it (www.polishforums.com?refresh=true) and you're OK.

My firefox on Linux supports obcaching and rather worryingly I get to see the full source code of the home page.

If I wrote code like that I'd get sacked on the spot.

EDIT: as of about 5 minutes ago, it now plays ball in Ubuntu 9.10/Opera 10. FF still hooky.

... and now we're back to CET times on all new posts. But not the previous ones. How the devil does this bulletin board handle locale? Worrying. Back up your PMs and run to the hills!

EDIT: and you have to refresh the page to see your new post (form handling code after view code, perhaps?)

Ah, come on - it's almost certain that the admin will have access to the PM's anyway ;)

(at least on phpBB, they're stored in plain text - can't imagine this forum would be any different)

Hosting company's issue; back to normal several hours ago.

I wasn't thinking about privacy matters - more that if the hosting company or whoever do an upgrade and f*ck your .htaccess files/Apache config so they reveal the (1990s-vintage) source code, it's a matter of minutes before our charming teenage friends in darkened rooms across the globe start trying to wreck the site. Often, successfully.

Try clearing your cache - might be referencing the local copy. (Tools > Internet Options)

I cannot find the right thread with Search, so I post my question here:

After exporting all Inbox messages, all Sent messages and deleting all of them, I try to send a new PM and get the message that the total number of stored messages reached it maximum. How come since there are no messages in my PM system?

Perhaps it is that the recipient has their own mailbox full? If yes, there are MORE than 1 person who wrote me, one has their mailbox already cleaned, the other has their mailbox full ;-)

Whoops! The homepage seems to be down (and 'latest' view) - paginator works, but not the actual table with the threads. FF4 on Linux but the HTML is empty too. Wassup?

Admin: What is going on with the forum today? I can't see any threads beyond 'My Posts'. No 'Home', no 'latest.'

Got that page looking up alex'es posts.

Now going to follow Seanus' ... ;)

Gone again here too? Maybe PF has a new "you've exceeded your daily PF exposure limit" feature?

I'm wondering if its a deliberate change forcing members to look for threads and areas of interest to them, if it is it would be a very lean animal so it cant be can it?

There goes that theory!!
