I joined other polish forums, Moderators are watching their Polish Forums. If they noticed bad remarks about people or Poland, and Polish Peopple. Or genral topics.
Moderators should deleted any threads.

Why are you saving all bad remarks in Off-Topic Lounge ?

I don't like to argue with people.

Because everyone deserves to have the right to free speech.
Also some of the bad remarks may have a valid point to them, if you had to delete everything that was considered "bad" then it would be much less of a forum.

that's silly.... it should not be done this way... the good+ the bad = freedom of speech

name calling should be watched closely, but it's also debatable...

there's way too much racism here,
name calling i dont mind, it's childish but that's all

but there should be no place for racism here or anywhere in forums, this is the only forum i'm registered with that allows this kind of disgusting behaviour, i've complained to the people who run the site and they never even bothered their asses sending me an email back stating their position.

yes, it does seem to be a bit of a free for all, are there actually any mods, or is it just a rumour?

Agreed, but since racial slurs are still considered free speech on PF we all have to live with it.

Moderating is in a transitional phase and let's be patient. People get busy and Mods have lives too. We have seen them come and go over time. PD puts in one heckuva lot of work and we should acknowledge her sterling efforts.

People should think twice before posting sth that may be nasty anyway. A little bit of culture wouldn't go amiss.

They delete bad remarks? So what does that achieve? All that says is that they don't want anyone knowing he bad stuff about Poland, Polish people and whatever those people are discussing. Why don't they want people to know about the bad stuff?

"Thanks" to you I've learned at least a few bad words in English I've never heard before because you used them so often. Now you're sorry for using them I assume?

Same behavior is on the streets and probably in your own neighborhood..

They must lie to each other and their readers as well. Here you can find a more balanced and real picture of Poland and Poles because both the good and the bad things are freely discussed. The picture is not 100% true, of course, but it's more real than a picture based on censored comments.

overall this forums is just fine and you do a fine job too but i must admit that some of the racist crap being spewed by many posters does bother me a bunch.. but it is your forum and you seem not to care so i shan't either then.

keep up the good work you two. :)

Well, 3 of them had my vote. Namely, pgtx, Wroc³aw and Vincent. They steered discussions in a good way and generally stepped in when needed.

Moderators should delete incorrect thread titles ;) ;)

Problem is that, it is not balanced here, IMO there is more negative and bad in this forum than reality. And amount of nonsense posts and discussions makes it more difficult to find usefull info.

What I agree that strict moderation will not change this, what is needed more contribution about Poland and self control from posters (which can not be expected from some).

The balance comes from good posts and bad posts. If I post something that you perceive as negative, you may feel free to add your viewpoint. This happens a lot with my back and forth with Sokrates. People reading the posts are left to draw their own conclusions.

Yes but your point is valid only for regular posters who are aware of PF reality. I found this forum before moving Poland to get some information (that time situation was much worse) and I was expecting something really bad before coming here because of PF which luckily has nothing to do with reality.

It depends. If I told you that the roads are bad, police are apathetic, contract resolution is slow, service is generally bad, salaries are low, and building quality is usually not that great... well, those are my observations. I don't know how things like that would paint a false picture of Poland. This isn't some condensed guide of what you should expect, or what the common experience is. It's a forum with a huge amount of information...and as with anything else, most people tend to ***** about the bad and not mention the good.

PD - I too disagree with moderators deleting bad remarks about Poland (or any country) no matter how hurtful they are. Also, I believe that "freedom of speach" technically doesn't exist on private websites. PF could easily have imposed a rule stating "Only Positive Articles on Poland will be published" and I'm pretty sure it'd be all legal but smart? Hardly...

Having said that vulgarity should be limited and maybe posters should get infractions, time to revise their post before the mod deletes the vulgarity.

However, the Random Thread in a way does what you say PF doesn't want to do. It "deletes" posts in a sneaky way... Most people do not look for their missing posts amongs hundreds of other posts in a Random chimichanga thread.

I think posters should get infranctions for breaking the rules and after a while 7-day, 30-day, etc. suspensions.

If posters on a thread stray away from the subject too much they should get an infraction but the post should NOT be moved.

Random thread should be abolished!

If a thread gets beyond control - close the thread. People will learn sooner than you think.

All actions by the moderators should be explained to the "offender" and the screen name of the Mod should ALWAYS appear. Plain common sense and courtesy...

I visit several other message boards and most have some or all of those options - maybe that's why I miss them here.

If you want to take a look here's one example.

Oh, I should have say this, Moderators and Adminstrators are doing well and putting up with us.

I wasn't complaining about you. It is members who always argued with other members. I thought Arien was planning to talk to his lawyer. Which we have to be carefule what we says.

Did you know we are being watching and someone knows where we lives and what internets we're using? What do you call these people like spam, spy and ????

Moderator should delete comments of an anti-Polish nature (ex. "I hate Polaks" or Polak this and Polak that). This is a bloody Polish forum after all and people shouldn't say c'rap they would not say to their Polish friends- if they have anything.

I do fail to see any reason to the existence of the moderators. "I hate Poles" "I hate Russians" (it's mine opinon), "I hate Jews" "I hate blacks" and so on are just personal opinoions and should not be persecuted. The freedom of speech, anyone? How it is more valid then "I love (something)"? I despise political correctnes.

Could be a bit of both. Generous Poles donate clothes to those who have less, but are messy in doing so.

Is the glass half full, half empty, or is there too much glass for the amount of liquid involved? Depends on your standpoint, I guess.
